On Friday, I went to see Dawn for a facial. Always lovely. She also waxes my brows. If you haven't tried a facial, you are missing something wonderful.
On Saturday I had to work until 12:30. We ran over a bit because some patients like to talk to the doc, which is fine. Many of them have been patients for 10 years or more.
Saturday evening, we met our old neighbors, Bob & Ginny, for dinner at Fish City Grill. Bob and Ginny are the ones who always looked after our cats when we traveled and we did the same for them. It was fun catching up with them (and hearing about the people who bought our house!). We really do miss them. We lived there 28 years and they were our neighbors for about 25 of those years. They are excited that they will be great-grandparents in a few months. (I know they don't look it, but they are in their 60s.)
The Sun n Fun Fly-In was this past week, Tuesday through Sunday. It is second only to the fly-in in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, in size. The Blue Angels were here all week and boy-oh-boy do they make noise when they fly over!! And they have been flying over all week!! I tried several times to get photos but they were too fast for me. About the time you hear them, they are gone. I did swipe these photos from the Fly-In FB page...
They are so impressive. There were also all kinds of aircraft flying over, from experimental (homemade) planes to old warplanes. There was a hot-air balloon event at dawn on Saturday morning. One of these years I am going to get up early and go park somewhere close enough to watch. The tickets to get on the airport property are $100. That ain't happening! LOL People who live close to the airport have it made.
We went to our class, 101 Redeemer, on Sunday morning and stayed for church. We are very happy there!
Hoping Joey and Darlene will be down for a visit at the end of this week. They know I have a 3-day weekend. Darlene is having hip replacement surgery the next week, though, so we hope she feels up to the trip. We have missed her as much as we have missed Joey.
Wishing you all a good week ahead, full of blessings! Thanks for dropping by today!
Peace & hugs!! God bless!!

I'd love to see that air show. Looks so great. Glad you were able to get together with your friends.
ReplyDeleteHave a splendid week, Terri.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
It is always good to visit with old friends. The Blue Angels always put on a 'show' and it is fun to watch. Will be praying for Darlene and her upcoming surgery. Hope they can come this weekend tho! Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen an airshow. Looks fun.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
We have seen the Blue Angels while on vacation at Gulf Shores. Every now and then they fly over in practice. We hope to make it to Pensacola to see them practice one day.
ReplyDeleteYou always have such fun and exciting times!
ReplyDeleteSo nice you could catch up with your neighbors.
Have a lovely day, my friend. : )
We love the Blue Angels...keeping Darlene in prayer, Terri.
ReplyDeleteDo hope you get to see Joey and Darlene, Terri. I know you've missed them! Praying Darlene's surgery goes off without a hitch.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I had a facial on Friday too. What a way to end the week. It sounds like you had a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen or heard any military jets flying over where I live in L.A.,but I guess there are no bases real close by and maybe it's an airspace issue since there are so many commercial flights going in and out nonstop. Back in the 60s when we lived in San Diego I would see jets fly over on a regular basis and sometimes be startled by sonic booms, but that was during the Cuban missile crisis and those tense times.

That picture with the planes right in front of the sun - that's a gorgeous pic!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've never had a facial but think my skin needs it!
Looks like a fun couple!! Annster's Domain
ReplyDeleteI remember visiting that air show some years ago … when I was dating Pat, who lived in Lakeland. Rather, we just walked about the static displays and balloon glow. I don't know what he gave for the tickets, but it was so chilly I sprung for two over-priced sweatshirts. What I'd have given to see the Blue Angels perform!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby and son would so love that air show!
ReplyDeleteGlad the kids are coming for the weekend - I know you are really looking forward to that time together. I am so happy that you are enjoying your church!
Wow, that airshow I know was great. My grandson Noah has always enjoyed seeing them in Maine. I know they are noisy, but something worth "suffering through" once in a blue moon!! Sounds like you've had a great weekend, and I do hope your loved ones will come down for the weekend if able. Visiting with you would be good medicine. Happy for you to have found a church you love. That does make such a difference, doesn't it? I know it has for us. Now if we can just get moved closer, we will be even happier. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI love to see the Blue Angels fly! We lived in Annapolis for many years and they always fly over for Navy graduation. It was fun to watch the practice runs too over the Severn River.
ReplyDeleteL.O.V.E military air shows like that. Thrills me to my toes!
ReplyDeleteWow your friends definitely don't look old enough to be great grandparents! Sounds like a good weekend for you but I hope you get to see Joey and Darlene and that her surgery goes well.
