**Today I am praising God for our DIL's successful hip replacement surgery. She got home yesterday and was in considerable pain. Hoping she made it through the night without going back to the hospital. She will have therapy sessions at home. (Love you, Darlene! Stay tough.)
**Let's just take a moment for a prayer of thanksgiving for ALL medical personnel and especially our nurses.
**I am thankful for my little part-time job even though some days are harder than others for me. I was a department head/manager for over 30 years and it is not always easy for me to perform tasks I think are wrong and stupid. I can't say more than that but I am happy my knee surgery this summer will most likely be my exit song for the job. Sigh. God bless doctors, but they aren't businessmen. We all have our own special gifts...
**I am thankful that we found a Smithfield spiral sliced ham for $1.48 a pound at Harvey's. They were a lot more than that at Publix. Speaking of ham for Easter dinner...
**Thank you, Jesus, for your sacrifice and great love for us! We will attend Good Friday services and church on Easter Sunday, praising God, praising God, praising God.
**And, always, I am thankful for you and your visits!
Peace & hugs! God bless!

Oh, I hear you on biting your tongue at work. You know from my blog how frustrateing I can find my job and my boss...and it's gotten so much worse since they demoted the one in charge in the dementia unit and made the "big" boss responsible for all of it. She has always been a Type A over-thinker who stresses when things get busy. Now she is that and scatter brained as well because she can't multi-task. Not at all. Anyway, I get frustrated because I can see how she often makes things a lot harder than they have to be which means it ends up being harder for those working under her. It's a good thing I love working with the residents.
ReplyDeleteThere is no perfect job for sure and I know how much you loved working at the museum and this is just not that. Tie a knot and hang on...once you have your knee operated on, it will be over. Thankful to hear Darlene made it through her surgery and pray she isnt in too much post op pain.
ReplyDeleteI know you will grin and bear it when it comes to the job, Terri, but I'll be praying for you. Sorry to hear Darlene is in such pain, so will continue to pray for her, too.
ReplyDeleteThankful for you, my friend!
Glad to hear DIL is done with the surgery. Not fun.
ReplyDelete"... I was a department head/manager for over 30 years and it is not always easy for me to perform tasks I think are wrong and stupid."
🤣
I think you just summed up every job of every person everywhere in one sentence! Ha haha!
They get people up & moving FAST after those replacements... hope your DIL is tackling it all in stride soon!!!!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a beautiful & blessed Easter my friend!!!
So thankful to hear that Darlene came through her surgery so well. Praying for her complete recovery and relief from pain. Praying for you as you have surgery this summer... and I hope that you won't need to go back to work. I understand exactly what you are saying there...But I know you are making a lasting positive impact on those around you. God is using you while you are there for His glory. Take care and have a blessed weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to remember the aftermath of Tom's hip replacement, but I don't think he was in a lot of pain. Praying Darlene's experience is short-lived! Methinks much longer at your job and you'll develop scars on your tongue (from having to keep biting it)! I used to think like that about my former company's big-wigs, sitting in their Ivory Tower and so out of touch with reality.
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord. Praying for you all.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I sent a prayer along for your sweet daughter.. no complications and rapid healing and renewed strength and mobility! We just got back from our Easter grocery shopping... we opted for Mmma's fried chicken for our Easter dinner.. Have a wonderful family celebration!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry your job is stressful. Yes, everyone has different gifts and some people are harder to work for than others, for sure. I think they are so blessed to have you!
ReplyDeleteIt's no so much stress, just something that is hard for me to do because I don't think it is right.
DeleteI'm sorry I had to giggle when I read you description of your job. I can so imagine how someone as experienced and proficient as you has trouble doing things wrong and stupid. Bless you!!!! I know you look forward to that surgery for more reasons than one.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I'm so sorry to hear of Darlene's pain. I do hope it has gotten better by now.
