Weekend Recap on Monday...

We had a great weekend and I am so tired (good tired) as I type this on Sunday night!!

Friday was Helen's 91st birthday. For those who are new to my blog, Helen is a very dear friend of ours for over 30 years.  Her husband passed away six years ago.  Her niece, Cheryl, lives with her now but Joe takes care of her finances and other business for her.  Her hubby and Joe were CPA buddies. Helen didn't want to go out to eat this year. She hasn't been feeling well, but she did agree to have us come over with a birthday cake, so that's what we did.  The cake was from Dairy Queen and the flowers came from Publix.  She was happy and that was good!  She did not want me to take her picture because her hair wasn't done.

On Saturday, I had to work and we were B U S Y!!  We are supposed to be done by 12:30 on Saturdays but I didn't leave until 1:00.  Saturday evening, we met our friends, Al and Theresa, at Cheddar's.  It was fun catching up with them and dinner was good!  I didn't get pictures of them or us but caught this one of the sign as we were leaving the restaurant. We have been friends for over fifteen years.  Al and I worked together at the Museum (he is still there) and they live in Mas Verde now! Good neighbors and dear, dear friends!

We didn't want dessert at Cheddar's and said our good-byes outside.  On the way home, Joe thought a hot fudge sundae sounded good and so did I so off we went to DQ.  The sundaes were good!!

We got up Sunday to go to Sunday School, which is our membership class to prepare to join the church.  We played hooky from church because we were having our neighbors over for an early supper (late lunch).  I had lots to do and I'm not moving too well this past couple of days.  I fell on Friday, in the house, and landed on my bad knees and cut my arm on one of the cat toys.  I have bruised knees that aren't working well at all, a bruise on my butt and my arm looks like I skidded on gravel.  I had my hands full and stopped to pick something up, got off balance because my knees are wonky and down I went. So I thought I needed a few more hours to prepare for our company so I could work in some sitting time - ha!  We had the neighbors on both sides over because Jill and Murray are leaving for Canada on Tuesday. We love them dearly and hate to see them go.

I made a cheese & meat plate to munch on before supper.  Supper was baked ziti with meat sauce, a big salad and I made a French vanilla cake with vanilla cream cheese icing, with ice cream for dessert. We played a card game after supper, then had dessert and played another game before they left.  It was a fun evening. We are so blessed with good friends here.

The big news for us on Sunday was that our son, Joey, is back in the USA and is home with Darlene and the puppies in Brunswick, Georgia.  We are beyond thrilled.  He was in Kuwait for a very long year.  Praise God!

Back to work today and Joe and I both have doctor appointments this afternoon. His is the eye doctor and mine is my cardiologist.  Tomorrow, we have a meeting at Helen's with a caregiver company.  She needs some help while Cheryl is at work so we will see what can be arranged.

Sure hope you all had a good weekend!!
I appreciate your visit today!

Happy April Fools Day! Hope no one pranked you!

Peace & hugs!!  God bless!!

  9. Oh my word, Terri. All that going on, a bad fall -- and still you made time to fix that scrumptious food? I'm such a slacker! The last Cheddar's I visited was back in Texas in the 80's -- wow. But I can still taste that yummy burger. Next time I'm in Florida, let's meet there? My treat!

  15. What a busy time you have had! I am so sorry to read about your fall. We have to take care of ourselves. We eat at Cheddars frequently. I’m glad for you that your son is coming home. Was the cake from DQ an ice cream cake, I’m assuming? I didn’t know they made them.
