Weekend Recap on Monday...

It was another great weekend!  Our weather right now is just beautiful.  Our not-too-hot and not-too-cool winter weather with no humidity is amazing!  This whole week ahead has our temps in the low-mid 70s. Perfect!!  Being off work is also pretty amazing right now!

Thursday we went out to dinner with our Canadian neighbors, Jill & Murray.  Mexican food was great!  On Friday, Joe met with one of his tax clients and the rest of the day was free.  Joe went to play Nickels at the clubhouse Friday evening (I've been skipping it lately).

On Saturday, I didn't get out of bed until nearly 9:00 a.m.!  It was glorious! LOL  Saturday was also laundry day and cleaning day. I made cheese tortellini soup on Friday and we had the leftovers on Saturday along with a sandwich. Easy peasy.

We attended church on Sunday at our new church home, Redeemer PCA.  We are loving it and, best of all, Joe loves it too.  Here is a picture I took of the sanctuary before services.

They had a little strawberry shortcake social after services.  It was very nice.  Next week we begin the classes to lead us to membership. Looking forward to that!

I decorated a bit for Easter and like my little tiered trays on the buffet...

Helen and Cheryl came over to share corned beef and cabbage with us, to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.  I forgot to take photos, but here is the recipe I used.  Everyone enjoyed it.  I sent leftovers home with them and there are enough for us tonight!  It was good!  I happen to really love cooked cabbage.

We don't have a really busy week ahead. Nothing on the calendar for today.  Later this week we have haircuts and fasting labs for both of us.  I'm thinking about doing some spring cleaning. Curtains can be taken down and washed.  Windows can be washed.  We'll see if I get that motivated! LOL

On Sunday we are meeting a friend for lunch who is down this way on vacation.  She emailed me about getting together as she and her friend travel from Long Boat Key to Orlando, right through Lakeland.  Kathy was our neighbor when we lived in Virginia, before moving to Florida 30 years ago.  It's been 10 years or more since we saw her last and we are looking forward to catching up with her.  When we were neighbors, she was a school teacher and is now retired. She still lives in the same house.  We have been so blessed with wonderful neighbors wherever we have lived.  I will get pictures, for sure!

Thanks for your visit!!  Have a great week, my friends!

Peace & hugs!  God bless!!

I'm so jealous of your staying in bed so long on Saturday... that's my goal for this Saturday with no more infusions! :)

  12. My mother has an Easter centerpiece that she drags out every year. Bunnies are cute 'n' fluffy. Creepiest looking rabbit you ever did see.

  17. Sounds like you had a good weekend...and you are ambitious if you do all that spring cleaning...I should do that...I keep thinking we will sell this house and I can wait until we move...but that doesn't seem to be happening so I guess I'd better get busy and so something. Happy that your corned beef and cabbage turned out so well. My corned beef was rather fatty and gristly, and I was very disappointed. Bought it at Publix. It was plenty tender, but just too much fat. So I didn't enjoy it much. We DID enjoy the pot roast that I cooked Sunday for Scott's birthday dinner... that turned out perfectly, and we had beef stew over biscuits tonight...still have some leftover for tomorrow's lunch too. Then it's back to salad. LOL> Have a good week. God bless you.

Spring cleaning? Wow, I would love to get some of that done if I can ever figure out how to get an extra day in my week!
