1) This song is about compromise. When did you recently give in a little and meet someone halfway? I don't remember a specific time, but isn't life all about compromise? Relationships don't work without compromise, no matter the kind of relationship. It can't be all about "me" all the time.
2) She sings that the floors are wet. Are there any floors in your home that could use a good scrub today? No. If you answered "yes," will those floors get cleaned this weekend? Our floors don't get that dirty here (blessedly!) but I do keep up with the kitchen floor when I notice something (which is often, since they are white).
3) She also sings that the cabinets are bare. What's currently on your shopping list? I haven't made one since we went shopping last, but I do keep a list on the 'fridge when I notice we are nearly out of something. I think mustard might be there and I need to add bread (Sara Lee Honey Wheat).
4) You may be familiar with this song from Target's TV commercials. Do you often shop at Target? Not as often as we could/should since it is less than a mile away from our house.
5) The lead vocal is handled by Maren Morris, a Grammy winner for "My Church," which is all about singing with the car radio. What's the last song you sang along with? I honestly don't remember because I usually sing along with all of the oldies on our Sirius radio oldies station.
6) This past April, Maren married singer-songwriter Ryan Hurd and they have performed onstage together. Who is the last person you sang along with? No one sings along with me - not even Joe.
7) This song was composed by brothers Kyle and Michael Trewartha. With their bleached hair and sunglasses, they look like a pair of surfer dudes -- which they are, having grown up in Huntington Beach, CA. Is there a body of water near your hometown? The Atlantic Ocean is two hours from Lakeland and the Gulf of Mexico is an hour from Lakeland. Lakeland also has 32 named lakes within the city limits.
8) January 2018, when this song debuted, we had a total lunar eclipse. When things like that happen in the sky, do you go out of your way to watch? No.
9) Random question -- They say we're all young at heart. In what way can you be childlike? I can be selfish and contrary sometimes. I'm not proud of it, but there it is.

Your notes here on compromise -- so very true. The earlier we learn this, the better off we are. Only I suppose it takes the maturity of adults to understand when compromise is needful and when it can be harmful. Kids and teens aren't always ready to grasp that and can compromise unwisely.

DeleteWe try to go out and see nighttime sky events. Usually it's cloudy or raining and we end up not seeing anything. A few months ago we got to see a rocket launch. That was neat. We'd been trying to catch one for years. Had to get up at 4 am to see it but it was worth it.

Compromise in this country certainly seems to be in jeopardy as of late, doesn't it, Terri? Yet, it's invaluable to maintaining healthy relationships. Like you, we keep a running list of what we're about to run out of. Danny does most of the grocery shopping since he's the chef. Lucky me!

DeleteI can't help but sing along with the oldies our supermarket audio plays. (Hopefully, no-one hears me!) I, too, appreciate your answer to #1. So wise! Target used to be my 'go-to' shopping venue, but I've not set foot in one since they began that gender-neutral bathroom business a couple of years ago.
