Weekend Recap on Monday...

Friends, I really have nothing to 'recap' today.
I stayed in most of the weekend, being a good patient.

Friday, I didn't go to the farm with Joe (his client) because I was just tired.
Anesthesia stays with you for a few days, and the older we get, the
longer it takes to bounce back (I guess).
We did go out in the afternoon, to Sam's Club,
for a few things. It was a quick trip.

Saturday, I did nothing until time for church.  I missed going with
Joe on Wednesday for the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
but wanted to go to the Saturday Vigil.  I have to say that I ended up sitting for most of
the service.  (Catholics stand up and sit down, stand up and sit down....)
It still hurts to rise and/or sit, so I sat. But I was there!

Yesterday, Sunday, Joe helped me get the laundry going and we got it done.
I cooked dinner for us and was feeling some better most of the day.

Today, Monday, we are off to Tampa to get cortisone shots in my knees!
My knees have been hurting worse, so I am hopeful for some relief - major relief!
I can always tell when my three months are up. The shots don't last that long anymore.

Tomorrow, I have an appointment with Dr. Hahn for my post-op visit.
Hoping she says all is well and that I can drive again!!
Joe has been a trooper, doing the driving, but at age 81 he isn't comfortable
driving anymore (and I am more comfortable doing the driving).

So... ho-hum. Yawn!!  That's all I have for you today!
I hope your weekend was more fun and productive than mine! LOL

Thanks for checking in!!  Peace & hugs.

  1. Rest is good! Sure hope the injections help the knees; when I have the epidural in my back every 3 months, I can certainly tell when it is time for more. Be safe travleing.

  2. One day at a time...just try to pace yourself and not get in a rush...there is nothing more important than getting yourself back in order!! So thankful that Joe is able to help drive in the meantime. Praying all goes well with your appointments today and tomorrow. Blessings dear friend.

  3. Sorry, but mine wasn't very productive, either. You sound like you are taking things nice and slow...giving yourself plenty of time to heal completely. That's what you need to do. I hope the shots give you some relief and that you get cleared to drive. Happy Monday!

  4. I hope you get a good report tomorrow as well Terri. Not driving is so strange isn't it? I could not drive fore a while after I broke my wrist and I hated relying on others to chauffeur me around. ( I had so many lovely family and friends who were glad to do it but I had a hard time receiving!!) Hope the shots help your knees too.

  8. You are a good patient, Terri! Your good judgment about when to leave the house and when to stand up and sit down (smile) is going to serve you well in the long-term as you heal up.

  10. Easy does it, my friend! It sounds like Joe's a great nurse!
I hope, perhaps, you'll celebrate the cortisone injections with a yummy meal 'out.'

    1. Not as good as it could have been, Myra, but there is a little cafe in the medical center and we grabbed a sandwich there. My burger with bleu cheese was actually quite good!

  11. So thankful you have been smart and listening to your body as you recover. Rest is best. Your body is not only ridding itself of anesthesia but it is also healing. A PT person told me after my knee surgery that it takes three months for the body to regain normal energy and up to one year to realize your full healing - - - basically what you have at that point is what you keep. Of course this was regarding knee mobility but can be applied to other areas, too. Praying your check-up has phenomenal post-op news.

  12. I'm glad to hear you're recovering. I'm so far behind I don't think I knew you were having surgery. Take good care!

  16. I'm just glad you're retired and don't have to worry about getting well quickly enough to get back to your job. That's one reason I just put off getting some of my issues taken care of. I do pray that your knees will feel much better and that you'll soon be allowed to drive again.
