I made it to the farm (Joe's accounting client) on Wednesday! Missed going last week!
How about a flock of guinea hens. Noisy and fun to watch!
That gorgeous blue Florida sky! It was a pretty day!
Doc was waiting for his carrot snacks! Such a sweet boy!
And Pistle is a little aggressive when it comes to snacks.
He tried to chomp on my thumb at one point. He is a good boy though.
The exciting thing there this week was an injured Red Shouldered Hawk
that was rescued by the owner! He was feeding the bird raw chicken when
we arrived. Such a regal bird. His left wing seemed to be injured.
He tried to fly away once, but was captured again and brought back to the cage.
Hoping he will be strong enough to take off and hunt again!
They do have a place to take him for rehab if giving him rest and protection
there isn't enough. I'll find out next week, I guess.
He had no problem with me getting close for photos.
We are entertaining our friends, Al & Theresa, tonight for dinner and a movie. At the start of football season, we always MUST watch the movie "Invincible" which is a true story about the Philadelphia Eagles football team. Al has never seen it so we will be watching tonight after a meal of baked ziti, salad, and garlic bread. Cake and ice cream for dessert and popcorn for later. A nice way to start the weekend!!
Thanks for your visit!! Peace & hugs.

Glad you got to visit the farm and enjoy all of the animals. The hawk is beautiful and hope his wing heals soon. Enjoy your friends tonight; your meal sounds tasty for sure.
ReplyDeleteWow, the photos of the hawk are awesome. I hope he heals up and can get back to his hawky business soon. Looks like a good day at the farm.
ReplyDeleteRaw chicken?? I could not. Too much of a germaphobe! I know he eats raw things in the wild, but I would have to feed him a nice baked chicken with potatoes.... ;-)
ReplyDeleteWas that hawk really injured or was he pretending so that you take a photo of him? Hawks are clever. One tried to sell me raw chicken once and said it was KFC!
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
You're such an awesome hostess. That hawk is beautiful. I loved that one built a nest so close to our house this year! Glad you felt like going to the farm this week.... animal therapy is "fur" real. 😁 I just thought that up! Wonder if it's an original? Hope you have a great weekend
ReplyDeleteThat sky is gorgeous! And how neat to see a bird of prey up close!!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen that movie and love football so I'm sure I would like it! Neat pics from the farm! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThe hawk is beautiful. Love all the farm pics.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Glad you got to visit the farm. Love those photos, smiles. We are swearing off the pro football, due to the controversy, sigh.
ReplyDeleteThe movie is from the 1970s about Vince Papale and is a great story. Long before today's controversy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vince_Papale
DeleteThat hawk is amazing. There is a very active wildlife rescue center in Venice and it is so great the things they are able to do with the injured birds. I even called them once for a Sandhill Crane with a broken leg and they came right away.
ReplyDeleteThat hawk is wonderful, and my heart's gladdened to know he/she is receiving such great care. (I'd still be a little creeped out having it so near my 'kids.') Pistol sounds just like my Macie Ann when it comes to her treats.
ReplyDeletePS - I meant to tell you, your comment on Vic's post about Onxy was hysterical... just made my day!
It is a true story! I have photos of the stockings! We had fun with it.
DeletePistle is a beautiful horse, but I hope he leaves everybody's fingers alone in the future. And the pictures of the hawk are amazing! They are fun to watch, but a little scary to me when I see those claws and realize their strength in them. Your supper sounds delicious and a good evening with your friends. In spite of all the controversy, I will make sure Jay gets to watch the Cowboys this year because they are his team.
ReplyDeleteRandom acts of kindness to the horses...makes for a good day... :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the trip to the farm. I really love them :).
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful hawk. I do hope he will be okay.
I love the photos of the horses and the hawk is so awesome looking. I see them around here quite often when we are out driving. One of these days I need to try to get a picture. Of course, they are never as close as what you were able to get. I hope he will be okay by next week.
ReplyDeleteOh, that hawk is so majestic, Terri! I do hope it will heal soon, and be able to fly again. I'm amazed by how calm he seems around people. He must know they are there to help.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, and have a great weekend!
Oh my!! You had quite the adventure this week...Glad Pistol? Pistle? Didn't get your thumb...I'm sure you do know to keep your thumb flat and kind of out of the way, right? LOL. You do now, if you didn't! That hawk is awesome! I am amazed at his composure to sit there as you took his picture, etc. He seems to know that he is being cared for and it appears that he appreciates it. I love that. I am glad that you were feeling good enough to get out and about this week, and also that you are already having company for dinner! You are quite the hostess! Sounds like such fun!!! Enjoy and relax when you can!!It sounds like a great time. Take care and God bless.
ReplyDeletePam, yes I do know to keep my hand flat. He grabbed my thumb as I was reaching into the bag for another carrot. Greedy guy.
DeleteI'm glad you were able to make it to the farm this week. I'm sure the animals wondered at your absence last time.
ReplyDeleteYour menu sounds delicious!
thank you for sharing these beautiful photos I love stuffed ziti and enjoy making it! happy weekend
ReplyDeleteYes, that hawk really does look regal. Everything at that farm is so beautiful including the animals!
ReplyDeleteYour Friday evening sounds wonderful! I never made baked ziti. I'll have to look that up.
Glad to see you're out and about again. Pretty hawk. Great pix.
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it to the farm! That hawk is absolutely beautiful!!! WOW!
