Black & White Memories on Wednesday...

Let's share some of our old photos and the cherished memories associated with them, then link up with others doing the same!  This is only until our Hodgepodge hostess, Joyce comes back in the Fall (hopefully!).  We miss you, Joyce!!

This is my step-grandpa, Bob James, and me.
Papaw James was a gentle man with a huge heart.
He was a plumber and carpenter and a tinkerer extraordinaire.
The lamp and wishing well planters in this photo were made by him.
The lamp is covered with seashells.  He also built furniture and
let me use his scrap wood to make furniture for my dollhouse.
He loved peanut butter and crackers, and coffee.
I loved him so much, and he loved all of us back!
This photo of us was in his wallet when he died in 1973.

I love this photo of Joe's mom, Julia D'Orsaneo, seated on the right.
Joe doesn't remember the friend she is with,
but that is him (the little guy) on top of the boat.
They were at Wildwood, NJ, enjoying the beach that day.

I also love this photo of my mom when she was 15 years old.
She told me once that her girlfriend took the photo one day, as they
were taking turns posing.  I can almost hear the giggles!

Last week I mentioned that my Pawpaw Kelly was a farmer,
This is an aerial photo of their farm in Fayette County, Ohio.
It was taken a very long time ago.  My dad was a pilot (single engine)
and might be the one who took this picture.

Thanks for checking in!! I hope you will join us in this memory meme by linking up and posting your own black & white photos with the memories to go with them!!

  9. I am loving this series you are doing.
That pic of your mom - how precious. 15 year olds are the same no matter what era, aren't they? :)

  10. What an adorable toddler you were! And Joe's LONG legs! Your mom looks just like a model … much more sophisticated than 15 y/o.

  12. Great pics, Terri! Taking note of your mother's friend with her hair tied up at the beach. Remember those HORRIBLE, tight swim suit caps we used to have to wear in public swimming pools?!! They always gave me a headache!

Since I have a special announcement on my blog today, I've scheduled to link up with you this Friday.
