A Sunday Stealing full of Parades...

I love a parade

Hi! I'm your host Bev Sykes of the blog "Funny the World".  Welcome to Sunday Stealing. This feature originated and published on WTIT: The Blog. Here we will steal all types of questions from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions. (Past hosts include: Our first - Judd Corizan, Mr. L, Kwizgiver, and Bud) Cheers to all of us thieves!

I don't remember where I found this one, but given that the 4th of July is coming up, I thought this series of questions about parades might be fun.

You can join the Sunday Stealing HERE!  Thanks to Bev Sykes for this week's questions!

1. Do you like parades?  Not really.  On TV is fine.

2. Rate the following parade attractions in order of affection:

2. horses;
1. marching bands
3. floats;
6. anything that gives away candy:
7. politicians ride in cars?
4. antique cars/tractors;
5. fire trucks;

3. Have you ever been in a parade?  Lots of them. High school band.

4. Do you bring lawn chairs to parades? Nope.

5. Does it bother you to have to park a long way from the parade, and then walk back to the car afterward?  That's the main reason I don't go to parades.  That and the crowds.

6. Do you wave at people you know?  I would if I was there.

7. At people you don't know?  I would if I was there.

8. Do you take pets -dogs particularly - to parades? If I went to one, no. No pets!

9 Have you ever been to a big parade in person (Rose Bowl, Macy's, etc)?  Nope.

10. Do you attend more warm weather or cold weather parades?  Not applicable.

Wishing you all a good week ahead and a happy Independence Day, whether you go to a parade, fireworks, picnic, or just enjoy your day at home.  Thanks for your visit!!  Peace & hugs.

Blessings to you on this first Sunday in July!

  1. Our town organised a boat parade. It did not go anywhere. All the boats were parked on the road and could not move on dry land.

    God bless.

  3. My favorite parade is the Macys Thanksgiving Day parade on TV. I would love to travel to NYC to see it in person. Of course, maybe from a hotel room window and not out on the street.lol

  4. My dad was the biggest fan of parades I've ever known and his love of them rubbed off on me. Unfortunately, after he passed everyone else pretty much gave up on parades. Oh, I could usually nag someone into going with me when the kids were small, but it wasn't the same and once they got to the teen years it kind of fizzled out. But now there are grandkids to take and we may take the youngest this week, but that's going to depend on Tim's knee and my ankle. Have a safe and happy 4th, Terri!

  5. Terri- You are one of the FEW PEOPLE that I know that will admit that do not like a parade. I am with you. I guess I just don't "get it". lol I thought I was the only one in the US that is not crazy about a parade. lol xo Diana

  6. I don't like parades either ... they're too long, too loud, and too boring. I used to go to hometown parades when I was little. and then when my daughter was little, but I don't even watch parades on TV (too much chatter by the tv commentators and too many marching bands). I guess that makes me an old fuddy-duddy, Lol.

  8. Once my parade-loving father drove us non-stop from New Mexico to Pasadena so we could see the Rose Bowl parade. Maybe there's something wrong with me, but I'm not a fan.

  9. I'm not a parade watcher either. Sitting in the heat, in a crowd... But if I'm there, the floats would be my favorite.

  10. I love parades! Both in person and on TV. But I haven't been to one in quite a while, maybe five years. Marching bands are definitely my favorite thing.
