Weekend Recap on Monday...

Another weekend is behind us.  Perhaps yours was more eventful than ours was...

On Friday, Joe had physical therapy. He was happy when he came out and said it went really well.  That was fine until he woke up on Saturday morning with sore muscles and a weakened left arm (again). He is still feeling good about it and understands that it is a process.

I had leftover steak and a baked potato and decided to make some beef vegetable soup in the crockpot.  I called Helen to see if she and Cheryl wanted to come over for soup and cornbread. They said yes.  I also made brownies that we had for dessert with some ice cream. There was enough to send home soup and cornbread with them and more for us another day. Yes!

Saturday I changed the sheets and got them washed.  We went out to dinner with another couple from here in Mas Verde.  C. is fighting breast cancer so they stayed here for the summer to keep her doctor here.  She has lost her hair and has three more weeks of chemo before she switches to once every three weeks.  She and her hubby always play Nickels with us when everyone is here (not enough people to play now).  It was fun getting to know them a little better and we enjoyed going to a restaurant we hadn't tried before called Glory Days.  I had some yummy shrimp, Joe had pulled pork, T. had ribs, and C. had a rice bowl.  We were all happy!

Sunday ended up being laundry day and we finished watching season two of Marcella on Netflix.  Our son called from Kuwait and it was good catching up with him.  Joe's Phillies lost the last two games so he is concerned about them.

Here are a couple of odds & ends...

These little mini ice cream cones are DELICIOUS and just the right amount for a bed-time snack.

They  are by Blue Bunny!! Yum!

And Lucy was enjoying (again) the bird video on my laptop.

We have a busy week ahead so we will be hopping!!  Thanks for your visit!!  Peace & hugs!!

  1. Sure hope the physical therapy will help Joe and I know the soreness at first is a result of it. It is always nice to visit a new restaurant with friends. May the busy week ahead get done without problems.

  2. Keeping Joe in prayer. My husband has been going to therapy for his hand (since his surgery) for weeks now and he sees no improvement. He's thinking of cancelling the rest---he's not very happy.

Do you know, we cant get Blue Bunny here? sigh

  8. Tell Joe not to worry about the soreness. Often after going to my chiropractor, I will feel a bit of soreness in the back area we are treating, but it doesn't last for long. And those mini cones look delicious! Maybe I need to hunt up some for Virginia.
    Blessings, Terri!

Yes, physical therapy is a process. It's not easy. Good for Joe for hanging in there!!

  11. I am curious to know how big that steak was to make so much soup!! Very impressed. I'm sorry Joe is so sore, but he has a good attitude. I was sore this weekend from cleaning house getting ready for company. I didn't know I felt I would be able to walk straight up again!!! Ugh!
