Weekend Recap on Monday...

I usually back up to Thursday when I do my weekend recap.  I posted about our friends' visit last Friday but didn't post this photo of just them when we were at Lakeside Village.  Karen and I have been friends since grade school (5th/6th grade).  She was a bride's maid in my first wedding (eons ago).  I feel so blessed that our friendship has endured!  We really enjoyed the visit!!

My Friday started at the Museum. I helped Marilyn with a couple of things but didn't get the year-end report done that I went to do because the information I needed wasn't available. I go back on Tuesday to hopefully get that done.

After I got home from the Museum, we went to pick up Helen for her therapy appointment and then we went to Crispers for lunch.  We treated at Olive Garden earlier in the week so she insisted on treating us at Crispers.  She is amazing for 89 (90 next month) years old. Amazing.

We usually go to the Clubhouse on Friday nights to play Nickels but we were both too tired.  Missed the fun and camaraderie but were happy to be at home.

It was Groundhog Day, which really doesn't mean much in Florida.  This was on Facebook and gave me a chuckle...

Saturday was a sleep-in morning for us and then I got the laundry done.  I also made some more pizzelles.  That's all she wrote. Lazy. Felt good.  Al and Theresa stopped in for a visit in the early evening. It's always good to see them!  I gave them some hot chocolate and pizzelles.

Vinny was watching his cat video on my lap at one point during the day...

Sunday found us sleeping late again.  I made pancakes and eggs for a late breakfast and we had tacos for dinner before the Super Bowl.  I ate tacos, Joe made a taco salad (he hates making tacos).

I found another "Lakeland Rocks" cat rock on the driveway, next to the newspaper!  How fun!! I have no idea who is leaving them for us, but it sure makes me smile!  Does two make a collection?

We watched Villanova beat Seton Hall, which was a great game!!
Joe graduated from Villanova (as did son Joey).

Of course, the big story was the Super Bowl.  I happen to like college basketball and pro-football, so I was glued to the TV with Joe...

The coaches & players are giving the glory to God!!  So great to hear on national TV.

Whew!!  What a game!! We are thrilled that the
Eagles won the Super Bowl!!  So happy!!
Nick Foles won MVP. Excellent choice.

Today we are off to Mazarro's Italian Market with six of our neighbors!  A two-car caravan and yet another good time with our wonderful neighbors and friends!

Thanks for your visit!  Peace & hugs!!  Yay Eagles!!

  3. I saw that palm tree on FB and got a good laugh, lol. Bitter cold here in western NY and it snowed yet again last night...not complaining.

I love that someone is leaving rocks for you...how funny. Someone has a sense of humor, love it. Have a beautiful day friend.

  4. Yes, two rocks make a collection and it looks likely there will be more!

Loved the picture with the palm tree. I'll be sharing it somewhere, I'm sure. And it does indeed seem that the worst of the frigid weather is behind us! Yay! That's why we moved here!!!

  5. The rock is so cute. Did you Google Lakeland Rocks? There are tons of rock painting/hiding groups. They have boards that you can post pics that you found one of their rocks. One of my FB friends is in a group. She has lots of fun hiding her rocks for people to find.
    Have a great day!

  6. The palm tree was cute....never thought about it before...lol I love the rocks....since you are an artist, maybe you could join in by painting and planting some rocks yourself. I think it is a fun idea. We were so glad the Eagles won....time for the Patriots to go home and stay there! lol Have fun on your trip to the Market.

  9. YAY Eagles!
What I'd give to be able to sleep late! Unfortunately, our pups' bladders aren't extended life! :)

That palm tree meme is hysterical; may I borrow it for my FB page?

  13. It was so refreshing to hear the Eagles giving God the glory. You just don't see/hear of that in the secular world too often. Love the rock, and love that someone is leaving them without you knowing who it is!!! ahhhhh.....a mystery!
