A Valentine's Day Hodgepodge...

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 341

Thanks to our hostess, Joyce, for this Valentine’s Day Hodgepodge edition!!  Join the fun HERE!

1. When's the last time you had a heart to heart talk with someone?  Oh gosh, Joe and I have heart-to-heart talks often.  A change of heart? Just had a change of heart when meeting my roommate in the hospital and then getting to know her as the day wore on.  First impressions are often negative so best to keep an open mind.  Experienced figurative 'heart failure?'  Probably the last time was our near-horrible accident on I-4 when we were going to Mazzaro’s with our neighbors. You can read about it HERE if you missed that post.

2. Champagne, chocolates, flowers...what's your Valentine pleasure?  Chocolates always win with me!  I don’t care for Champagne and would rather leave the flowers growing in the ground. Any special plans for the day?  No special plans though Joe has a doctor’s appointment.  We are going to the farm on Thursday this week so perhaps we will go see a movie!

3. Are you a hopeless romantic or do you fall more in the category of practical and pragmatic? What's a gesture you find romantic?
I am not a romantic so practical and pragmatic are a better description.  As for what do I find romantic… when Joe thinks of me and does something not expected (like emptying the dishwasher).  He really isn’t romantic either, and that’s okay with me.

4. Do you ask a lot of questions in life or are you pretty content with what you already know?
I am a curious person but don’t ask a lot of questions. I am more likely to just Google something...  speaking of which....                                                                                                                                                             5. Your favorite power ballad? I had to look up the meaning of power ballad.  (power-ballad. Noun. (plural power ballads) An emotional rock song, generally focused on love, delivered with powerful vocals.)  I guess I will choose this one….

6. Insert your own random thought here.
I will just wish each of you reading this today a very happy Valentine’s Day!!  I send love and hugs to my dear blogging friends, today and every day!!

Thanks for your visit!!  Peace & hugs!

  1. Thank you! Happy Valentine's Day to you too! This was a great post. I hope you and Joe do something fun and romantic today even if you "aren't romantic". A movie sounds nice. I haven't been to one of those in ages...but John did watch Cinderella with me on tv a couple of nights ago. The 2015 version...it was great! And the fact that he watched it too made it even more special!! HaPPY vALENTINE'S dAY!!

  2. I had to look up power ballad, too. LOL I didn't want to read about the almost accident but I did and am so grateful everyone was ok! Terrifying doesn't seem to be strong enough for that situation. Goodness! I'm not much of a champagne drinker either but it's ok mixed in with something like in a punch. Though I'd like ginger ale in the punch just as much. Have a wonderful day!

  6. Yes! On the Roberta Flack song. Love it. And so true about first impressions. One thing I've learned is to not pre-judge people, or rather not let someone else's opinion of them become mine. Learn to know them myself. So many times people have tried to influence me to dislike someone before I had even had a chance to get to know them. How dare we judge others! And yet of course, it's a natural tendency and I ask God to help me not do it. God bless you this first day of Lent. ❤️

  7. I always liked Roberta Flack, lots of good songs in the HP today. I'm glad for your change of heart. I think we naturally make some sort of judgement upon meeting someone new and it's good to be able to acknowledge maybe a first impression wasn't accurate. Have a great day!

  8. Happy hearts Day to you too Terri. We are doing low key today. I did pick up a chocolate covered apple for our dessert tonight!! I am a romantic but being married to a physicist, I have learned to appreciate all the great qualities he has even if he is not terribly romantic.

  10. So glad I'm not the only one who wasn't familiar with the term power ballad! I just consulted Google Girl and was blown away by the selections. Boring perhaps, but I'll go with anything by Air Supply.
    Happy Valentine's Day!

  13. Thanks for the definition of 'power ballad.' I didn't know what that was, either, but I didn't look it up because I didn't participate in Hodgepodge this week. Now i need to think what my answer to that would be.

I'm so glad you are feeling well!

  14. A happy belated Valentine's Day to you and Joe, too. I'm guessing right now you are at the farm having a good day. I too had to Google power ballad as I never heard that expression before. There were many to choose from. I was so happy to see on Facebook that you are all right.
