Every February, the Mas Verde ladies host a Fashion Show Tea/Luncheon that supports the Florida Baptist Children's Home here in Lakeland. This was the 10th year and the speaker from the organization spoke. She told us that we have donated over $23,000 in the nine years before this year. Pretty amazing and a pretty amazing event each year. Some of the women volunteer to be a hostess for a table of 10 by doing the decorations and setting the table. The tables were all beautiful and fun. I didn't get around to all of them, but here are a few...
The above black & white table was the one I sat at.
Our neighbor, Sharon, was responsible for it. She did a great job!
Our dear friend, Helen, went with me. Helen will celebrate her
90th birthday next month. She is AMAZING!!
There was a sponsor who made one of these for each place-setting.
Aren't they cute?!
Our hostess (and our neighbor) Sharon in the lacy top.
Our neighbor Jill (in black) and her sister are the other two ladies.

There were three tables of items to "bid" on. I bought
30 tickets and didn't win one item, but I rarely win anything.
I was returning from a trip to the ladies' room and took this
picture of the entire room. It was very well attended!
It was a fun event. I say it all the time and have to say again how blessed we are to live here and be part of this community of (mostly) retired people. If you are bored or lonely here, it's your own fault. There is ALWAYS something going on.
Thanks for your visit! Peace & hugs.

I love how you're enjoying retirement! What a great idea and a way to help others. You really do live in such a great community. Ms. Helen is lovely.... you're such a special friend. 💜

ReplyDeleteThat is so neat that each table setting was different. Wow a lot of people attended the event. I can't believe how many activities your community does.

The table settings were all so pretty, and whoever did them, needs applause. I know Helen enjoys being able to attend things like this, and it is thanks to you for taking her. Hope you have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - how lovely are these settings? FANCYYYY!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! The tables are just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHands-down, the black and white table decor's my favorite! That's pretty neat how Helen, Sharon and the others wore coordinating outfits! (You, too, perhaps?)
ReplyDeleteYes, we were asked to all wear black and white! It was fun!!
DeleteThe tables were so pretty. We did something similar at a church we attended some years ago. Each table was so pretty, each with their own setting.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to spend some time. The tables are all so pretty and it was fun meeting your neighbors. :)
ReplyDeleteWell it certainly does look like a well-attended event. Good for them! - and good for you for going. I see on your sidebar that you're still looking for a church family. I hope you find one soon. xo
ReplyDeleteIt definitely looks like a great event.
ReplyDeleteI love black and white and that first time table is beautiful. What a worthy event and great participation. You really and truly are blessed in this environment and I know you are a blessing to your new friends. We did a mother daughter tea and table settings were elaborate like this. I'm always impressed by the creativity of the ladies who out it together.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I love all the different tables. So nice that you're part of such a fun community.
