Friday Foto Friends....

Friday got here fast this week!  Is it because of the bitter cold?  Shivering our way through another week?!  Yes, we have been shivering here in Central Florida.  Freezing temps at night and only in the mid-40s during the day.  This weekend should bring more normal temps back to us!!

So, if it is Friday (and it is), it is time to share a Foto or two and link-up with Deb at Breathing In Grace for her Friday Foto Friends!!  Thanks for hosting Debbie!!

Wednesday we did not go to the farm because of the cold rain, so we went yesterday morning instead.  I already wrote about getting the Christmas decorations packed away for another year on Wednesday.  When we got back from the farm yesterday, our friend Al came over to help us put the boxes in the loft of our shed.  It only took about 20 minutes.  Afterward, he visited for a while (it was his day off from work) and had a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows. He told us that he thinks of us as family.  So sweet.  We feel the same way about him and his lovely wife, Theresa.

While working on Christmas decorations, I was also reorganizing our pantry.  Got it done after Al left and it feels good.  I hope we can keep it organized now!!  It was a huge mess over the holidays with bags of food and supplies stacked on the floor so that we could barely walk inside to get things.

I showed you a picture of my little two-tiered centerpiece that I assembled for Christmas...

Well, it is empty now and I will soon be making it over for Valentine's Day!  Pictures will follow!!

That's all I have for this Friday!  It has been too cold to be outside.  I did visit the horses at the farm and played with three of their four dogs but I didn't take photos.  Oh...I almost forgot to report that we found a new place to eat!!

The son of a couple who live here in Mas Verde owns this franchise in Bartow (10 miles south of Lakeland).  We were talking to them at the party next door last week and they told us that they both work there through the weekday lunch hours to help their son.  We drive right by it on our way to and from the farm but never thought to stop and try it.  We popped in yesterday and are so glad we did!! The Philly Cheesesteak was the best we have had outside of Philly!  We got to talk briefly with Hank and Jo and told them how much we enjoyed our subs.  I think we will be regulars!!

Okay...I'm done.  Wishing you a good Friday and hopefully a much warmer weekend!!  Peace & hugs.

  1. Your pantry looks great! Want to come and organize my kitchen? It's such a jumble behind the cabinet doors. I should part with a lot of stuff, but it's all stuff I might use. Sigh.
I absolutely love the centerpiece! That's a great idea and so easy to change out for every season. I'll have to look around for one of those two-tiered things with sides to hold stuff on. I have one, but it doesn't have sides.
I hope you warm up over the weekend. Pennsylvania is pretty much shut down today...at least all the schools are closed. Seriously. ALL of them. The eastern half the state is getting the snow and here in the western half we are freezing. The temperature is zero or less with windchills of -15 to -25 with no chance of warming up during the day or through tomorrow.

  2. It is freezing here. We got 18 inches of snow, 20+ mph winds, and as of 8am 14 degrees feels like -4. Brrr.
    Stay warm!

  5. It sure is great to see that bright sunshine. I had to get out yesterday and I'll be out and about again today. The misty cold rain was like a snow day for us. Take care of yourself and enjoy the weekend! Hugs!

  9. I love the look of a clean pantry. We have three cooks in the kitchen these days so it is hard to keep things organized. I do love your centerpiece. I like one like that because you can see the person sitting on the other side of the table. It is cold outside here but warm inside. No complaints here!

  11. wow! I love that pantry. Would love to have a real genuine pantry closet here. Especially with a light so I can see what I'm looking for! Maybe in my next life/house! LOL. You have some great places to eat. That sounds great... Your centerpiece thing is great...you can use it for all seasons and holidays! What a great idea!!! Well, this was great. I hope you are warmer today. I am chilly now, so I think I need to get up and get my circulation going again!! BRrr, we Floridians are sure spoiled! LOL.

  12. You have been busy, Terri, Christmas put away and organized your pantry!
My youngest sister was born in Bartow. I would love to go back some day, I loved living in Florida, even though it was only 4 or 5 years.I remember when I was in the 8th grade, it snowed in Mulberry, the first time they said in 100 years. Not much but they did let us out of school to go out and see it. Memories!

  13. Temps in the 40's huh? Since I know you're from Ohio, I'm sure you're able to withstand the 40 degree temperatures knowing how much worse it could be. It was 16 here the other morning and never got above 28 for a couple of days. We didn't get any kind of precipitation. I like your centerpiece that is so versatile. Great job on the pantry. Looks nice and roomy.

    1. From Ohio, yes, but I haven't lived there since 1978 and I have been in Florida since 1989. It's hard to remember snow!!

  14. Your pantry looks so nice and ROOMY, Terri! I found a faux galvanized piece for my DIL (much like your centerpiece) at a really affordable site: pickaplum.com. Now, I'm thinking I need (ha!) one of my own.

  15. Everybody is cold!!! We've been hovering between zero and ten. Going into the 30's next week sounds like Spring!

I really like that centerpiece too. How fun to change it out from season to season!

  17. I want one of the tiered metal trats... I love them. The sub shop sounds so good... But I'm a tad hungry as I type this. ☺ Hope you have a great weekend... stay warm... it's 9 degrees as I'm typing this. Brrrrr!

  18. It’s so nice to have a clean pantry. We did ours a few months ago and so far we’ve kept up with it pretty well. I just love trying new places to eat.

  19. You've certainly been busy Terri. My pantry cupboard is a mess right now but this cough of mine is keeping me from doing anything other than basic chores so it will have to wait. That's the beauty of being at home full time though. Things can wait.
