Saturday 9 Time....

Thanks to Crazy Sam for this week's Saturday 9.  She gives us music-related questions, we answer and then link back (if you want to) to join others.  Find the Saturday 9 HERE!!

Piano

Saturday 9: Piano (2013)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) As she sings, Ariana muses about the songs she could compose on her piano. Do you play the piano?  I took lessons as a child and wish I had stuck with it.  I can only plink a little.

2) She compares love songs, saying there are sad ones about how hard love is, and happy ones that make you want to dance. What's your favorite love song?Is it sad or happy?  The first one that came to mind is this one by Percy Sledge....

Michael Bolton does is quite well, too!

3) Ariana's mother always told her that they took her name from Princess Oriana in the 1988 movie Felix the Cat. Who is your favorite cartoon character?  Wilma Flintstone (I really have no idea!).

4) Ariana's favorite board game is Monopoly. What's your favorite board game?  I am not a game player, but Monopoly brings to mind some very fond memories of my childhood years.

5) She relaxes by baking. When you feel keyed up, what do you do to relax?  Just relaxing with TV, the computer, a good book.  I don't get "keyed up" much anymore.

6) She is a huge Florida Panthers fan, even though once, as a little girl, she got hit by a puck. Now that the NHL season is underway, how's your favorite team doing?  I am a Flyers fan by marriage and they are having a horrid season.

7) In 2013, when this song was popular, the NHL reached an agreement with the players union and averted a strike. Have you ever belonged to a union?  No, and never would. They had their place at one time in our history but not so much anymore.

8) Also in 2013, Pauline Philips died. Ms. Philips was better known to millions of readers as "Dear Abby." At its height, her advice column appeared in 1,400 newspapers across the country. Do you still read a printed copy of your newspaper?  Yes, I do and I still enjoy reading Dear Abby, though most of the time it has me shaking my head.

9) If you could get the answer to one question about your future, what would that one question be?  I would defer to someone who wants to know about their future. I'm trusting mine to God.

Happy Saturday to you and thanks for your visit!  Peace & hugs!!

  1. I agree with you on #7, though I have been in one...workers were without choice about it at a grocery store I once worked at. They made sure they got our money, but I can't see where they did a thing to help us. I end up in hot water with a cousin of mine any time the subject comes up as he is a staunch union man. Doesn't matter what the subject is or the problem...a strong union would solve it. The union has become his god. It's so bad Tim and I don't even like to be around him.

  3. Good answers, all of them. Especially entrusting your future to God.

I wish my nature was as calm as yours. I'm much better than my younger days but ...

  7. As always I agree with many of your answers, we sure think alike on many things. My daddy was in the union and they kept him working, but like you, they had their place at one time, not so much anymore. I love and agree with your answer to #9. Hope you and Joe are enjoying a great weekend.

  8. So happy to know our future is secure in Christ. I loved your answers! I don't still read a printed newspaper. Perhaps I should...but we don't have delivery here, and I'm too lazy to go get one at the store. LOL. So, we get our news on TV (such as it is)...and try not to watch too much of that. I prefer watching the birds and the bears! LOL. I like your answer "Wilma Flintstone" That is a good one. I can identify with Wilma also. I used to love Monopoly, but my hubby always wins, so we don't play it anymore. LOL. It's been a while since we played any board games. We do play some cards now and then when we have someone to play with. Have a great weekend. Stay warm! :)

  9. Amen to #7! My former DH was affectionately(?) known/utilized by his corporate office as a union buster.
    "Wilma Flintstone" ... SMILE!
