Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 338
Joyce has given us this week’s Hodgepodge of questions. We answer on our blogs and then link back to On This Side of the Pond to join the other Hodgepodgers for this fun link-up!! Thank you, Joyce!!
1. January 24th is National Compliment Day. Is it easy or not so easy for you to accept a compliment? It is not easy for me. Share a recent compliment you've given or received. I had to go to the Museum again this week for more payroll and end-of-year things. One of my former co-workers told me I looked great. That is always nice to hear. 😊
2. Ten little things you are loving right now. Maybe not so little?
2. Ten little things you are loving right now. Maybe not so little?
- Retirement
- Our home in Mas Verde
- That we have friends coming to visit this month and next
- We have a summer beach vacation scheduled with family
- Our cats bring us so much joy
- Did I mention retirement?
- We have dinner plans with neighbors on Saturday
- We have a road trip planned with friends on Sunday
- I am meeting a blogging friend next month!!
- The weather!!
3. Would people describe you as a positive person? Yes, I think so. Do you see yourself that way? Yes, I do and work at it. I read here a list/description of eight things positive people do differently-
Positive people find something to look forward to every day, they celebrate the small stuff, they're kind, they stay busy, accept responsibility for their actions, forgive themselves, know when to move on, and resist comparisons
Which action on the list would you say you do regularly? All of them, but especially staying busy. Which action could you add to your life to give you a more positive outlook? I do work at knowing when to move on. If you're a positive person, what's something you do regularly that's not on the list? Praise God.
4. Homemade chicken soup, beef stew, or a bowl of chili...what's your pleasure on a cold winter's day? I wouldn’t turn down any of those, but I really love chili on a cold day.
5. The best part of my day is.... after supper and winding down the day when we slow down and relax before bed.
6. Insert your own random thought here. On Tuesday nights, we can get supper at the Clubhouse here in Mas Verde. They have Bingo at 7:00 on Tuesday nights, but from 5:00 to 8:00 you can get a hamburger, hotdog, potato salad, chips (a la carte), beverages and all the fixings for next to nothing. We have been enjoying an inexpensive supper and talking with other residents most weeks, last night included. Have I mentioned how much we love it here? Can you believe (I can’t) that it has been a year next month since we moved in? Wow!!
Thanks again to Joyce for this week’s Hodgepodge! Thank you for your visit! Peace & hugs!

You are definitely a positive person and I love you for being that way....no, I cant believe you have been there a year! Time goes by entirely too fast these days. Good questions - good answers as always. Happy Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how much stuff your new community has. Always things to do.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
I love how happy you are in your new home/community...and retirement!! You are truly blessed. And I love your positive attitude. You are a blessing. Thank you for being a bright spot in my day here!!
ReplyDeleteA year already? Wow, smiles. I am so happy that you are enjoying your new community and retirement. Smiles
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to meeting you in person!
ReplyDeleteWe have a similar time of socializing at our church on Wednesday nights with a supper that costs very little, good food, and friends we enjoy. Gathering with people of common interests is so important as we face the conundrums of life.
I'm so glad you're enjoying retirement AND your new home! Tuesdays sound like fun there :) I love playing Bingo.
ReplyDeleteKathy (Reflections)
So glad you're enjoying your new home and community. And retirement : ) We are starting to 'book' our summer company and make our own travel plans and I love having that to look forward to. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteTerri you are a very positive person. I always feel uplifted after reading your blog.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm jealous! You are living my dream!
ReplyDeleteYour list of ten things is fantastic and I don't see any of it as little. Wow! You are really rocking retirement and not rocking the rocking chair! Good for you. I would enjoy Tuesday evenings there.
ReplyDeleteOne year? Already? Wow, I can't believe how fast that went! I agree you are a positive person. I love chili on a cold day, too but mostly during football season. And at oyster roasts because not everyone eats those nasty things. LOL
ReplyDeleteI can barely look at oysters! Yuck! Pass the chili!! :)
DeleteRetirement: can't wait!!!
ReplyDeleteMeeting a blogger? Can't wait to see who it is!
Positive people only procrastinate one day at a time.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Wow that year has gone quickly but great to see you are still glad to have made the move and enjoying life with lots to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, you are the busiest retired person I've ever met! I think it's wonderful that you now have time and are still physically able to do all the things you enjoy.
ReplyDeleteYou are a positive person and I love reading about all the fun you are having.
ReplyDeleteGosh, no. I can't believe you're about to celebrate your first year at Mas Verde. What a perfect choice y'all made!
ReplyDeleteI'd have had a REALLY hard time deciding between the chicken soup, the stew and chili. In fact, I'm still searching for a great chili (no beans) recipe.
First of all, I cannot BELIEVE that it's been almost a year since you moved in! Good grief time flies. I knew you were a positive person. I think we've got a lot of morning/positive people on the Hodgepodge roster. It is so fun to read your list of things you are loving right now. :-)
ReplyDeleteI am going to give you a positive comment - I think you are so happy and outgoing - you have lots of friends - and you are very happy! Love it. Sandie
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to wish you disappointment on Super Bowl Sunday. I am a life long Patriots fan and I bear no malice towards any devoted fan of any other team. It should be a great game.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that you have settled in to a place where you are happy and that you seem to be enjoying your retirement. Thanks for your visit and have a great week.
Your Tuesday nights sound like so much fun! Do I deduce that you are going to get to meet Barbara?
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
