Tickled Tuesday.....

I found another silly cat joke to share on Tickled Tuesday....

Happy Tuesday to you!  Our Monday wasn't too busy.  Joe had a fasting lab that was scheduled for 11:15 a.m.  He just wasn't thinking about the time when it was scheduled but he was ready to eat after they took his blood, so we went to KeKe's for breakfast (lunch!).  I, on the other hand, was up fairly early so I could attend the Monday morning coffee with the ladies at the clubhouse.  That was fun, and I met a few more women.  Several 'snowbirds' are back for the winter too.  There were about 40 women there.  I'll never remember everyone's name! I'm so bad about it.

Our afternoon was pretty uneventful other than a visit from our neighbor Sharon.  She popped over to chat for a few minutes.  We never had neighbors just popping in at our old house.  Everyone worked full time and we did see each other out in the yards now and then, but 'popping in' takes me back to my small-town roots.  I'm loving it.

Today Joe has another appointment at the VA and we both have haircuts scheduled for the early afternoon.  I need to bake some more pizzelles while he is at the VA.  Gives me something to offer folks when they pop in for a visit!

We were tickled that Darlene had good news about hip replacement surgery, but she went ahead and met with another orthopedic surgeon in Brunswick and he told her to go ahead and get the new hip, so that is what she will be doing in early January.  I hope it is the right decision. She is only 55.

Spoke with my sister, Patti, last night.  It is always good to hear her voice and get their news.  She is sending Tammy's (little sister) Christmas gifts here since Tammy and Bruce will be here for Christmas this year. I'm getting excited about the holidays!!

Thanks for your visit!  Peace & hugs!

  1. Wow, 55...did she injure it or was she an athlete? That seems young, but imagine in the days before they could do this surgery. That would be very difficult for a young 55 to deal with. Thank God for doctors!

    1. She spent 30 years doing tap and ballet and jazz and teaching kids to dance at her studio. Hard on the joints.

  2. Will hope and pray the hip surgery helps her. I am so happy that you are happy in your new home and sounds like you are making new friends almost every day. Christmas will be here before we know it.

  3. I'm not sure 55 is old or young...it seems they are doing more "preventive" surgeries now...like I'm 50, and here I am getting a hysterectomy, which according to the dr. should of been done before 40...anyways, keeping Darlene in prayer.

I am so happy to read that you are really enjoying your new home, smiles.

    1. I had mine at 46 and my doctor told me every woman should have a hysterectomy for their 45th birthday. I'm sure glad I had mine!

  4. I love how happy you are in your new home and retirement bliss! Love that you enjoy the neighbors "popping in"! In some ways I think I'd love that, and in others I'm not so sure. What if I'm not totally "dressed" for company? Some days I just like to not worry about hair, makeup, what clothes to wear (I do wear them...just not "company clothes) LOL. But I am SO happy for you. You make me smile.

    Have a great day!

  6. Well I tend to agree with her Brunswick Doctor...if it is bone on bone, time to do something. One of my cousins at a knee replacement at 50. We have BAD arthritis in our family. And Marvin was very pleased with his new knee as well. Another friend had hip replacement and I heard from her that the rehab on a hip is not as extensive as on a knee so hoping Darlene flies through. The new place where you live sounds like so much fun Terri. No one gets bored there.

  7. I would love to have a morning coffee time with the ladies, that's wonderful. Yep, when you're retired you can pop in and pop out...don't have to wait for a work day to be over. Ain't it fun!!?? lol

  10. I love pop in visitors too. People don't do that like they used to.

  11. So good to be back and read your smiles! Tom was 72 when he had his hip replacement ... but just a day after, he was kicking himself for having waited. 'Said the relief was immediate. Sending prayers for Darlene's successful surgery!
