Thankful Thursday Link-up....

Happy Thursday, all!  It's time to link up with Rebecca Jo at Knit by God's Hand for her linky-party of thankful posts!  You can join in by clicking HERE!

I am thankful to have found this list of quotes that I tore out of a Readers Digest a while back.  To give credit, it is from the June 2017 Readers Digest, Points to Ponder.

What I regret most in my life are failures of kindness.  Those moments when another human being was there, in front of me, suffering and I responded sensibly. Reservedly. Mildly.  George Saunders

The one thing you think you can do better than everyone else - go out and do that.  The light shining out of your eyes should blind people.  You should be on fire all the time.  Garrett Oliver

Churches are good for prayer, but so are garages and cars and mountains and showers and dance floors.  Anne Lamott

Why do you go away?  So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors.  Terry Pratchett

People say you should have something to fall back on, but if I'm falling, I want to fall forward.  Denzel Washington

Your opponents would love you to believe that it's hopeless, that you have no power, that there's no reason to act, that you can't win.  Hope is a gift you don't have to surrender, a power you don't have to throw away.  Rebecca Solnit

I hope you enjoyed these as much as I did.  Which is your favorite?  The first one, about kindness, really spoke to me. I know I have failed that way.

This weekend is when we fall back and end daylight savings time.  I don't think it will bother me as much as it did when I was working!!  Just thought I would throw that out there!  Loving retirement!

My knee feels a little better but the bruise is getting darker.  My arm actually hurts worse than the knee now.  Your good thoughts and prayers are appreciated!

Thanks for your visit today!  Visit Rebecca Jo's blog if you have time.  Love her!  Peace & hugs.

  1. Well as I am a Denzel Washington fan, I will go with his quote but I don't want to fall at all. Hoping you feel better today Terri.

  2. People say you should have something to fall back on, but if I'm falling, I want to fall forward.  Denzel Washington---I really liked that one...growing up my dad often said, "You should always have something to fall back on." smiles

I ma glad you are feeling better, Terri. I hope you have a lovely day, friend.

  4. I like the one about prayer. So thankful that we can pray whenever and wherever we want...God is always there to listen and answer. Praying for your knee to heal and your arm to feel better soon.

  7. Great quotes...I loved them all, but the last one was the best for me. Praying your pain and bruises will soon fade. So thankful it wasn't worse. Take it easy and let your body just rest and heal. Yes, retirement is great for that!!!!

  8. I like the one that says, Churches are good for prayer but so are a lot of other places! I always feel humble when I stand on the beach and look out at the ocean. Enjoy your evening and this beautiful weather! Hugs!

  9. Yes, your first sent shivers down my arms. And I love Anne LaMott. But it was Terry Pratchett's thoughts on 'going back' that reverberate. Unfortunately, my classmates say it's changed so much. Not sure I want to burst that bubble.

    Prayers for your comfort!

  10. These are so good! The kindness one spoke to me as well, because I know I fail at it sometimes.
