Another weekend behind us, and we have a busy week coming up!! It really is amazing to me how our days get filled up with things to do and places to go and people to meet!
Friday we got to spend most of the day with our across-the-street neighbors, Paul and Anne. They both have Italian roots and are from Syracuse, NY. Lots of fun to be with! They loved Mazarro's Italian Market and now want to make it a monthly trip. Fine with us! We always have to get this picture with the folks we take there....
Our friends, Al & Theresa, were moving into their new home here in Mas Verde on Friday. We bought a bottle of bubbly and a box of pastries from Mazarro's for them. Dropped them off when we got home. Al called me the next morning to say how much they liked the goodies, and now they want to go to Mazarro's with us! Happy to oblige!! They will have to pose, as above, though.
Saturday was my laundry day. That's about all I can say about Saturday.
Sunday, we had Helen and Cheryl over for lunch. I made pork chops, mixed vegetables, cooked apples with brown sugar and cinnamon, mac & cheese and cottage cheese with peaches. We munched on some cookies for dessert. We hadn't seen them all week, so it was good to catch up with them. Cheryl's two grandchildren live in Australia. She found out from her daughter that the girls are 'into' anything Calvin Klein right now so Cheryl is watching for sales on anything CK to send over. She has to send packages for Christmas before Thanksgiving to make sure they get there in time.
Today we are off to the Disney area to meet up with Judy and Sid. Judy is the older sister of my BFF Elaine. She lives with her Aunt Sid in Truth or Consequences, NM, where they are both retired school teachers. They are on vacation at one of the Disney resorts and we are going over to have an early dinner with them. I think we are going to the Hard Rock Cafe at Downtown Disney/Disney Springs. We have eaten there before and the food is good. I haven't seen Judy is years and years so it will be fun catching up. I met Aunt Sid a very long time ago. Joe hasn't met Aunt Sid and says he doesn't remember meeting Judy, but he was at the anniversary party. I think this might be the last time I saw Judy and you can see the date on the picture...1999. This was at their parents' 50th wedding anniversary. In the picture is Judy, younger sister Peggy, BFF Elaine, me, my sisters Tammy and Patti and that's my late brother sitting down. Fun picture. Good people. We do go way back.....
And Tuesday....we are meeting a blogging friend and her hubby for lunch over in Brandon. Pictures to follow for sure!!
Wishing you all a good week! Peace & hugs.

Terri, you are one busy lady. So glad you can have all these fun times with friends.
ReplyDeleteWow you are busy. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYikes...you sure are busy. smiles. Which, probably is a good thing, right? Have a great day, friend.
ReplyDeleteYou are having sooooo much fun! I'm happy for you. It is such a cliche, but you truly do wonder how you ever managed to have time to work. I've always wondered about a town called Truth or Consequences. How did it come to be named that?
ReplyDeleteWell, I didn't know either, so I Googled it and this is what I found out. Kind of silly, actually, but it is what it is.....
ReplyDeleteOriginally named Hot Springs, the city changed its name to "Truth or Consequences", the title of a popular NBC Radio program. In March 1950, Ralph Edwards, the host of the radio quiz show Truth or Consequences, announced that he would air the program on its 10th anniversary from the first town that renamed itself after the show; Hot Springs won the honor, officially changing its name on March 31, 1950 (the program broadcast from there the following evening, April 1). Edwards visited the town during the first weekend of May for the next 50 years. This event was called "Fiesta" and included a beauty contest, a parade, and a stage show. The city still celebrates Fiesta each year during the first weekend of May. The parade generally features area celebrities such as the Hatch Chile Queen. Fiesta also features a dance in Ralph Edwards Park.[
Well you are a busy gal with all your friends - I am not surprised and I am glad for you.
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy - - - having fun with friends!!! Praise God for retirement and time to cherish times with them even more.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear Al and Teresa are already moving in! He seemed so nice and if his wife is anything like him, they will be great additions to your neighborhood!
You are going to be a busy bee this week for sure. Enjoy each day and the folks you spend them with.
ReplyDeleteI need to have a full laundry day myself... but it would probably need to take 2 or 3 to catch up. Yikes
ReplyDeletewow.... the lunches keep on going!!Sounds like you are having a wonderful time...and so it should be. :)
ReplyDeleteNot so good for sticking to our diet though!! But we are enjoying it!

ReplyDeleteI want to go pose, too! Someday, for sure! :)
ReplyDeleteGrowing up in New Mexico, some of my childhood images show us posing by the iconic Truth or Consequences sign. I never thought about its origins before ... thanks for the back story!
Looking forward to that 'someday'!!
