It's Hodgepodge Wednesday!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 324

Our hostess, Joyce, brought us the questions to answer.  We just need to link back to her blog HERE to join all the other Hodgepodgers.  Thank you, Joyce!

1.  Have you ever spent time on a farm? Tell us a little bit about it. Have you ever grown your own pumpkin? Been on a hayride? Driven a tractor? Milked a cow?

I have spent time on a farm.

My paternal grandparents had a farm with I was little. I remember helping Granny gather eggs in the chicken coop; I remember the outhouse; I remember Granny killing a chicken or two for dinner; I remember having lots of room outside to run and play.

I have never grown pumpkins but my dad did in our family garden.

I have been on lots of hayrides.  Fun stuff!

I have never driven a tractor (unless a riding mower counts).

I did try to milk a cow on my cousin's dairy farm. It wasn't fun.

2. What's something younger you would like about you now?

That I have chilled a bit.  Not quite as 'controlling' as I used to try to be and I don't worry anymore.

3. What are three things you'd like to do more often? Three things you'd like to do less often?

I would like to travel more, I would like to get back to cooking more often, and I would like to see family more often.  I would like to NOT watch so much TV, not have to cut my toenails so often, and not clean the cats' litter boxes every day.  I'm half in jest with most of these. Really couldn't think of anything to write!

4. What's on your nachos?  Lots of cheese, salsa, and hot peppers!

5. What's the most random thing in your purse or wallet? Does it need to stay there?

Well, I have a handbag handcuff that I use ALL.THE.TIME when shopping (especially at Walmart).  It definitely will stay in my purse. It makes my bag a little heavier but is so worth the security. I actually gave a couple as Christmas gifts a year or so ago.  Here is the link:  https://www.thegrommet.com/handbag-handcuff-purse-hanger

6.  Insert your own random thought here.  A few days ago I mentioned a project I was working on (painting a shelf for the guest room).  I finished it yesterday and got it installed. The bare-wood shelf and the metal tray came from Hobby Lobby. The little lamp came from Walmart.  There is a chest of drawers next to one twin bed, but I needed something slim to go beside the other one.  I am happy with the way it turned out!  Now there is a place for a cell phone, keys, glasses, and/or a book.

Happy Hodgepodging!! Thanks for your visit! Peace & hugs.

  1. The shelf looks like a great solution for the space and I love the tray! For us Type A's learning to let go and not try to control 'life' is a work in process. At least for me it is : ) Have a great day!

  8. I enjoyed your farm memories. I have many of the same ones...how could I forget to mention the outhouse! Those were the days :)

Your home project turned out nice. Isn't it wonderful to now have the time to do such things?

I couldn't see the Hodgepodge linky today, so I couldn't get my name on the list, but I did answer the Hodgepodge questions.

    Enjoy your day,
    Kathy (Reflections)

  9. I"m remembering your space dilemma ... way to think outside the box, Terri! The metal tray is a perfect accompaniment ... it's so You! :)

I've been over to the 'handcuff' link yet, but you've just given me a great idea for stocking stuffers!

  11. Oh, I really like what you did with the tray by the bedside. Very nice! I've not heard about the handcuffs, but when I go to Walmart or anywhere with a cart, I use the baby straps to fasten my purse in. Are you getting so much protein that you can't keep up with the toenails? ;-)

  12. The "handcuffs" for your purse is a great idea! I might have to get a few of those for stocking stuffers.
I like the shelf. Putting the tray on it is such a nice touch to keep everything together.

  16. “Have you ever grown your own pumpkin?”

Once, by accident! We had a compost pile when I was a kid. We threw our old jack-o-lantern into it at the end of the season and the next year...
