Little Woman
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love to answer the questions, however, and here are today's questions! Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) This song contains many weather references (clouds, rainbows, sunshine, rain). How's the sky where you are today? As usual, blue sky and hot sun. Scattered fluffy clouds.
2) Bobby Sherman sings that when he's alone, he imagines his "Little Woman" is right there beside him. Do you often daydream? No, and I don't really remember ever daydreaming about anything. Gosh, maybe that is kind of sad!
3) Bobby had a very bright smile. Do you ever use whiteners on your teeth? I won a professional teeth-whitening procedure at an auction once. I went through with it and when my teeth stayed kind of gray the dentist asked if I had ever been on long-term antibiotics. Yes. In my early 20s, a doctor put me on a strong antibiotic to help me get rid of my acne. I was on them for two years. Ridiculous now, but it is what they did back then. The dentist said that the enamel on my teeth was damaged by that and they would never be really white. Oh well.
4) He was beloved for his shiny hair. If we were to peek in your bathroom, how many haircare products would we find? Mine...shampoo, conditioner and a leave-in gel to stop the frizz. So three.
5) After high school, Bobby attended Pierce, a community college in the west San Fernando Valley. For culinary students, Pierce offers courses in canning --specifically apples and peaches. If we were to peek into your pantry, would we find canned fruits? Nope. No canned anything in my pantry. I'm too lazy to do it anymore so just buy what I can in the store or fresher at the Farmers' Market.
6) As an actor, one of Bobby's earliest performances was on the TV show Honey West. That series revolved around a female "private eye" adept at martial arts. Do you have any self-defense moves (that don't involve a weapon)? No self-defense classes but I know about using the elbow, kicking the knees and stamping on the instep. Hope I never have to try them out.
7) In 1966, Bobby did this rather energetic commercial for milk. Do you often enjoy a glass of milk? I like milk but rarely drink a glass of it....especially now that there are no Oreos in the house.
8) When his show business career waned, he became a paramedic. Have you ever called 911? Unfortunately, several times. Joe's stroke was the last time.
9) Random Question: Which book do you think you could learn more from --The Joy of Sex or The Joy of Cooking? LOL...that's a loaded question but since I am cooking more now that I am retired, I'll go with the cookbook.
Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and commented on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!
Thanks for your visit! We have nothing on the calendar for today, but who knows what we will get into! This is the last Saturday in September! Can you believe it? Peace & hugs.

Enjoy the weekend!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend....Joy of cooking... always loved the title... that is where about it ended for me!
ReplyDeleteI never noticed your teeth weren't very white. All I have noticed is your beautiful smile!!!
ReplyDeleteAt this time next week, we will be 3 or 4 hours from Kissimmee since we are seeing my sister in Augusta on Friday and spending the night on the road!
I don't recall my teeth ever being particularly white. At this age, if I 'boost' them (PicMonkey) they look way artificial. Your smile is so sincere and inviting ... that's what counts.
ReplyDeleteProbably he was a popular paramedic. I gave up on the whiter than snow teeth! You have a beautiful smile anyway. You reminded me that I had also called 911 when Jay had his stroke. Happy cooking!
ReplyDeleteGreat answers!! I think the Joy of Cooking is a safe answer at our age...but the other sounds interesting! LOL. I think there is too much hype about white teeth these days. I keep trying to get mine whiter, but I like to drink tea too much and it does stain them. The whiteners can be hard on the gums. I'm not crazy about the super white teeth everyone has on TV. Looks fake to me. But maybe I'm just jealous. LOL. The important thing is to SMILE, SMILE, Smile...no matter what! I keep reminding myself of that.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have a a little fun. I enjoyed reading your answers and reminiscing about Bobby Sherman. Goodness I hadn't seen nor heard of him for aeons and I enjoyed hearing that old song on the video. He really was a handsome man.
ReplyDeleteYikes! That must have been a scary time...calling 911 and waiting for them to get there when Joe was having a stroke. I hope I never have to call for a loved one.
