Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 287
Welcome to another week of Hodgepodging. I'm sure no one has anything else going on-ha! I'm still unpacking my house and have twelve people coming for Thanksgiving dinner, but other than that it's pretty quiet here. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, and even though we're still settling in I'm glad we'll have a full house on Thursday.
Okay, you know the drill...answer on your own blog then waddle back here to share answers with the universe.
1. What's something you might say runs in your family? Arthritis, cancer, obesity, hard headedness, much love, plenty of laughter and so much to be thankful for!
2. I read here a list of ten things you should do before 2017 arrives (in less than six weeks!)...which tasks on the list might you do? What would you add to your own 'before the year ends' list?
visit your Dr. or dentist, deep clean your home, donate unwanted items to charity, look someone in the eye and tell them you love them, write an honest letter to yourself, clean up your inbox-desktop-photos, travel to a place you haven't been, compliment a stranger, watch the sunrise, think ahead to your goals/plans for the new year
I have done quite a few of those already. I won't be writing myself a letter, and though my photos need to be organized, that won't happen before the end of the year. Travel is out. My plans for the new year include retirement!! There's that word again!! Ha!
4. Sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, cornbread dressing-which would you miss the most if it weren't on the holiday dinner menu? Sweet potatoes, I think. They 'say' Thanksgiving to me - with marshmallows on top, of course!
5. What are you over thinking right now? Maybe what to put on my Christmas list for a few of the more difficult-to-buy-for folks, even though I know they appreciate whatever they get.
6. Your favorite slang word lately? Can't think of a thing. How about 'brain fog'!!?
7. Write an acrostic for the word grateful.
God
Really cares
And gathers us
Together on Thanksgiving to
Eat and share until we are
Full in spirit as well as in body
Ultimately sharing His
Love for us with all who gather in His name.
8. Insert your own random thought here. I know that I won't be blogging tomorrow and most likely y'all won't either so I want to wish you (my USA friends) a very happy, safe and blessed Thanksgiving holiday! I have a feeling we'll be sharing lots of photos on Friday Foto Friends!!
Sending love, peace & hugs!! Safe travels if you are out and about! Be blessed!

#3 and #7....❤ Happy THANKS GIVING to you and Mr. Joe!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteWait! You've moved? I'm way too out of touch...
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love your answers to #3 and #7! I hope you and yours have a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Kathy (Reflections)
We haven't moved! ????
DeleteRE: #3 -- Boy, kids, and many adults, don't know history AT ALL! They should read medieval history as I do. You'll learn to appreciate having an indoor toilet and not worry about contracting typhoid. They'd appreciate that there are no longer true plagues that sweep whole countries and kill MILLIONS of innocent people. They'll appreciate that we don't have to worry about hordes of armies invading our lands, murdering, raping, and stealing from the poor. And so forth. Spoiled little brats. (Sorry, got carried away ... *lol*)
ReplyDeleteI won't be blogging either. Just some graphics but no comments necessary or expected. Be with the family & friends! That's what it's all about. Happy Thanksgiving! ~:)
Your acrostic is lovely! I had no idea the millennials blame the boomers for the woes. They might want to rethink that. Of course, they don't want to know what I think of them. Misunderstood or not. LOL I might blog tomorrow. If I have to use the knife on those who try to discuss politics, I can blog before the police arrive to take me off. LOL Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving Terri and Joe.
ReplyDeleteAnd to you and yours, Sandie!
DeleteI am blessed by your acrostic, Terri! And YOU GO BABY!! on #3. Right on! :-))) Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteYAY for #3. If I wasn't at work, I'd probably have stood at attention and clapped. :)
ReplyDelete#7 could be the new grace at mealtimes!
I'll miss 'seeing' you tomorrow, but wish you, Joe and your family a most heartwarming day!
I love your acrostic! Happy Thanksgiving my friend from Florida!
ReplyDeleteI hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday. Thank you for your kind words and thoughts for my beloved SWMBO.
