Throwback Tuesday....

Grandma had lots of photos from lots of years ago and Jim packed them up for the grandkids to share. It was one of the boxes we got to sort through.

Years ago, when Grandpa Cameron was still living, he and Grandma had a weekend place on Lake White, near Waverly, Ohio.  Their "camper" was on a feeder canal which was great for us kids.  It was only about three feet deep and was nearly crystal clear.  We could row the flat-bottom boat and we also could swim there.  Motor boats rarely came down the canal.

The "camper" with my papaw standing in front.

That's ME rowing the boat with my two sisters along for the ride.

Grandma (who just passed) and Papaw (my mom's dad)

Papaw drove an ice truck back during the depression.  My mom liked to talk about riding on the back of the truck and eating ice chips.  I had never seen him in his truck before!

This is a family picture I haven't seen in years.  All four of us kids with mom & dad.
I'm the oldest on the left, Patti in front and then Randy.  Tammy is in mom's arms.
It was probably Easter Sunday since we are all dressed up.

That's all I have for Throwback Tuesday.  I do have to report that our sister-in-law, Joan, died yesterday morning.  We heard a little more about it.  She was actually diagnosed two weeks ago, but they just got the results of all the tests on Friday.  One of her lungs collapsed which is what put her in the hospital.  They still didn't know where the cancer started, but even at two weeks, she sure did go fast.  We talked that it was good for her, but so hard for all left behind. Whichever way, it is always hardest on those left behind.  We are hoping to be able to make the trip north once we hear what the arrangements are.

It always hits home when we lose a loved one.  Life is so short.  We need to be ready because it can happen at any time.  Get right with God and let those you love know that you love them.

Thanks for your visit!  Peace & hugs.

  5. Great photos. It's fun to look at our loved ones from 'way back when'. You still have that cute smile. So sorry for the sadness. At least for those who trust in Jesus Christ for eternal salvation, it's a temporary goodbye until we're all together in Glory with Him. Blessings to you and yours this day. Prayers for the family.

  8. So sorry to hear this news. It sounds as if it was all very sudden but at least there was no prolonged suffering. But definitely hard for those left behind coming to terms with the loss. Love your hugs graphic - right back at you.
