Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 265
1. What's something fun you're looking forward to on your May calendar? Our niece's wedding!!
2. What are some images that come to mind when you hear the word mother? The images of two amazing women who meant the world to me! My mom and Joe's mom. Sure do miss them both.

Julia D'Orsaneo
3. What's something beautiful you own or have seen that's made of glass? I have several pieces of glass art by artist Susan Gott. Here is her website: Susan Gott
4. Was today typical? Yes. If not what made it unusual? Most weekdays are typical.
5. What is a quality you wish you could have more of? Patience.
6. What's the next major purchase you need to make? A car and a house. Will it happen in the month of May? Not this month but most likely by this time next year.
7. What responsibility/job/work did you dislike while growing up but has proved helpful to you as an adult? Any housework, especially ironing. Glad I had to learn how to do it all, though.
8. Insert your own random thought here. For those of us who have lost our moms, wouldn't it be wonderful if we could have them back for Mother's Day? One more day wouldn't really be enough, but it would sure be something to look forward to each year. I really miss celebrating Mother's Day with our moms. I still have my grandma to remember with flowers and cards, but I miss my mom and she has been gone almost 21 years. Blessed to have great memories, though, and the promise that we will meet again one day!
Thanks for your visit to my Hodgepodge today! Peace, love & hugs.

great post
ReplyDeleteNow what a lovely thought for Mother's Day. Yes, it would be a wonderful thing. My Mom has been with Jesus since 1987. I still remember the last time I saw her and talked with her. Our precious moms! I like your photos of your mom and mil.
ReplyDeleteA new car AND a new house! That's so exciting.
Have a great day.
I lost my mom back in 2000 and have thought many times about how wonderful it would be if she could come back for just one day. I miss her terribly. I learned how to iron when I was a teen. Enjoy your day, Terri!
ReplyDeleteI would indeed. I'd love to introduce my lovely daughters to their lovely grandmothers.
ReplyDeleteMiss both my moms also. Liked your meme this time round. Wow you have a couple of huge purchases coming up. I hope my 2002 car still runs good for a while. Hugs, LJ
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful thought! That reminds me of Diamond Rio's splendid song, "One More Day." (Shoot, I'm getting teary-eyed just thinking about it.)
ReplyDeleteI wish I had done more and expressed my appreciation more fully when my mother was still living. Without believing we'll meet again someday, I wonder how some people are able to go on.
Yes, it would be nice to have our mom's back for Mother's Day! Ed's mom's birthday was May 5, so I miss her for double reasons, this time of year. After my own mom passed away, back in 1997, Ed's mom became like a second mom to me.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, perhaps we will be able to meet up at SSI, or Brunswick, one of these days. I'll be the woman with the huge sun bonnet on my head :)

I could not agree more with your Random Thought. I still miss my two moms. I also miss my maternal grandmother who was very fond of me and vice versa. My musical abilities are at best average. I enjoy my music even f no one else does. Thank you for your kind words and Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteI had a major headache yesterday, so I'm late to visit....Happy Thursday!
