Monday's Weekend Wrap-up....
Some have today off, for the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. I'm not one of them...
Joe and I had a good weekend. I should have done some major cleaning, but lost the motivation for it, so that didn't happen. I did get the laundry done, and vacuumed up a little of the cat hair we are always plagued with. Should have mopped....
We did grocery shopping Friday night.
We went to the 4:00 Vigil Mass on Saturday evening, then to Deal$ (like a Dollar Store) for a few things. Church was packed...the snow birds are back. One of the restaurants we like to go to (Texas Roadhouse), after church, had at least 30 people lined up outside, waiting to get in. Did I say the snow birds are back? We ate at home.
Yesterday morning, we went out for a late (10:00) breakfast, then to the movies and saw "Imitation Game", which was EXCELLENT! What a story, and it is a true story. Amazing and also very sad.
My sister is still waiting for Bruce to be transported to the new hospital. They really thought it would happen yesterday, but it didn't. Bruce's daughter stayed with him Saturday night, and his son stayed with him most of yesterday, to let Tammy go home for the night and get some things done. She is packed for a week, since (whichever facility Bruce goes to) she will be two hours from home.
Bruce had a CT Scan on Saturday, and Tammy said the doctor is very happy with the results. Most all of the blood that flooded his brain during the stroke, has receded. Great news! Today is four weeks, and his chances are now better for some recovery. Getting past the one month mark was the first big step for him. Now, on to better care and physical therapy twice a day (instead of none at all). Hoping for the transport to happen today. Your prayers are still appreciated!!
Wishing you a good week!! Thanks for peeking in today! Peace, love & hugs!

I love your new background here. Giggling over "snowbirds". Keeping Tammy and Bruce in prayer.
ReplyDeleteSmack me, I forgot it was MLK day...eeek!! I understand those 'snowbirds' heading back from the cold north..lol Praying they can get Bruce moved today and his therapy started soon. Happy Monday (or is it?)
ReplyDeleteLOL at your snowbirds. We get summer people here that take over our area. We call them shoobies. We don't like them either. lol
ReplyDeleteI hope Bruce gets moved soon. Have a great day!
I'm sure many of those snowbirds are from Michigan and god bless them for getting away from our crazy winters :-)
ReplyDeleteVicki, they are mostly from Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana. Joe and I were counting the cars headed south when we were coming home from Georgia last week.
DeleteYou can tell those snowbirds to stay home in Wisconsin where they belong! lol Hope you have a good week, Terri.
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not we have Deal$ here, only they're called Dealz. I've yet to enter the one near my house, but I know I will sooner or later. I know they have a lot of British products, and one of my friends has already spent lots of money there.
ReplyDeleteHope and pray the next update on Bruce finds him in the best physical therapy facility for him and the family. I have no holidays until Easter, which seems so far off. Hope your Monday is going well.
Just stopping by to catch up with you! It won't be long before the snowbirds go back where they came from...maybe?
ReplyDeleteI'm still hoping and praying for your BIL. Glad his wife got a little break, to go home for a bit.
I know quite a few snowbirds who have left Michigan to visit your area!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a nice weekend and praying for Bruce's transfer.
My stepmother, "Grandma Mary" is in Sarasota for most of January and February. We're so glad she's able to do that, because the winters get so long and lonely for her since my dad died five years ago.
ReplyDeleteAnd I DO PRAY that Bruce was able to get moved today. This brings back so many memories of Dick's dad's recovery. Each night one of our sister-in-laws would email everybody with the day's news, good or bad. We rejoiced over every tiny step in the right direction.
One of my students is among those snowbirds. They head to FL every year - they have a condo in a retirement community down there. They will be back here in April I believe, then I have a month and a half or so to get her ready for recital!
ReplyDeleteWe have a Roadhouse here, too. Happily we found it a couple of months ago, and were looking forward to a nice steak dinner....but it was horrible! steak overdone, service terrible, too much dancing wait-staff and too little waiting on tables and serving food ....grumpiness everywhere, so we were not alone in our disappointment. needless to say we won't be going back to that one again. Keeping Bruce and Tammy in my prayers. Hugs, Sweetie :)
