Friday Fragments....
I don't know about you, but I'm not real sure what day it is! LOL This has been a crazy week, having two days off in the middle of it! Tomorrow feels like a Monday, but it's really Friday. Today is Thursday, but it has felt like a Sunday.....
I want to thank those of you who have been praying for my brother-in-law! He was moved back to Georgia yesterday, which is going to be such a help to my sister, Tammy, and to Bruce's kids (and for him!). He is responding to commands, is alert and we are hoping he will continue to improve so they can get him to a rehab facility soon. Your prayers are appreciated and please keep Bruce and my sister on your prayer lists. Thank you!!
Back to work today, but the weekend is nearly here. We had a great time at our little New Year's Day luncheon yesterday. The ladies came and we ate all the required foods that promise to make our new year prosperous and happy. We toasted to friendship with some non-alcoholic fizzy grape juice. At church, on New Year's Eve, we stopped to talk with Judy. You might remember that we went to her 95th birthday party a few months ago. She had no plans for New Year's Day, so we invited her to join us, which she did. That made an even six around the table. The conversation was lively and there was camaraderie and laughter. It was a great way to begin the new year!
Work will be intense the next couple of weeks. End of the calendar year means 1099s and W2s have to be done, as well as monthly and quarterly reporting. I'll be busy, which isn't a bad thing.
My BFF Elaine and her husband, Jim, are coming for a visit in February!! Sure am looking forward to that! I'll take a couple of days off so we can spend some time together. We are also supposed to go down to Boca Raton, sometime this month, to spend a weekend with granddaughter, Lauren. Looking forward to that, too!
Thanks for stopping by! Peace & blessings!!

Glad you had fun at your party, Terri! And that was so sweet of you to include the 95 year old friend in your New Years gathering. I always try and remember my elderly friends, though many are now gone on to be with the Lord. My 92 year old close friend has had flu, and I hate that because he is alone and out of state. I try to stay in touch and encourage him via phone. He is a link to my father as his father was my father's legal guardian after Daddy's parents died. Not blood related, but related by heart which is also a strong bond.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are going to be busy busy. Mr. Magpie has been, too. We spent a quiet Christmas and New Years this year by choice, and I am glad we got some rest. Though the revelers in St. Augustine were out and woke us up, causing both of us to have crazy dreams. I dreamed we had moved to China, had an African American minister with wire rim glasses (I can still see his face), and was working on making a movie with my cousin's wife. It was a vivid dream, but I can't remember all of it. We woke up really early and went back to sleep, and both of us felt a little "off" all day. Hopefully we got more sleep last night. Am up early to blog and then might crawl back into bed. Do you have to work today??? That seems kind of crazy and discombobulating, too. It does throw you with the timing on the holidays this year.
I am so relieved to hear that Bruce is better and has returned to Georgia. I know this news is well received by your family, and I pray he continues to improve.
I am having a drawing on my blog for a wonderful book and hope you will give it a shot and enter. You don't have to join or promote anything which is the good news. If you have the book, you know it makes an excellent gift. I got it a couple of years ago, and I just love it. I thought the winner would enjoy having their own copy in their library or to gift. It is a tablescaping book and has lots of info about flowers, and I like the fact that the author would use grocery store flowers and a mix of things in his 'scapes. I use a lot of flowers from Publix, and he was my inspiration to use carnations which I have fallen in love with for the first time. I had meetings of various sorts and used them in arrangements that turned out cute. He sold me on them, and I was a carnation hater for years. I love them massed. An older friend of mine used to send them massed, and he softened me on them first. But Joe Nye made me a true believer. He also used baby's breath as a stand alone centerpiece.
Okay, enough of that.
Sending you big hugs for a wonderful 2015. Many, many blessings to you and your sweet Joe and the kitties and the grands and family for a blessed year. And prayers to your sister and Bruce for his total restoration.
xo
Sheila :-)
P.S. Didn't you have a team win last night??? Ohio State??? Congrats!
I remember from years gone by that the first of the years brings you many hours at work and hope this year will be a breeze. How wonderful that Bruce is back in Georgia, making it so much easier for Tammy and children. Will continue to pray for him. 2015 - what will it bring to all of us? Hugs.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to keep track of days when holidays goof you up, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a nice day yesterday and I'm happy with the report on Bruce!
Funny, I woke asking the same thing, "What day is it?"--good news about Bruce, Keeping them in prayer. Glad you had a nice day yesterday. Have a great Friday. Blessings
ReplyDeleteSounds like a nice New Years. Great news on BIL
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
I can imagine how you're counting the days to your friends' visiting. How fun it will be.
ReplyDeleteYep, I remember those days of tax forms, etc. Grueling at times, but it does make the days zip by.
Enjoy your upcoming weekend. Happy New Year Terri.
Sounds like you had a good start to the new year. That's good news about Bruce. Thanks for keeping us updated. Prayers for him and the family will continue. Enjoy your day too.
ReplyDeleteSounds like things are headed in the right direction for your brother-in-law.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I took today off, but it might make going back on Monday even harder. haha I think I need to retire. lol
As I remember my working years, the week following New Years seemed extra long. Hope it just seems normal for you. So glad Bruce and Tammy got home. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI have been so busy, I haven't blogged in a long while! And when I don't blog, I forget to visit blogs. Maybe the new year will find me planning my time better... I had fun at the house party of a friend who was hosting dinner and a Polar Bear Plunge into her pool. One-third of her guests really did jump in. I stood on the other side of the pool and took pictures with the rest of the dry folks. LOL
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear the good news on your BIL and I will continue to pray for his full recovery. Sounds like you have some fun things to look forward too also!
