I am happy it is Friday, but I have accomplished next to nothing at home this week, and our son Jeff gets here Sunday, to spend the week with us! I have to get the decorating done, the guest room made up, some dusting, vacuuming and mopping done.... now I have some motivation to get moving! Ha!
Lakeland's annual Christmas parade was last night. We have never gone downtown for it. People are a little crazy. They put out their chairs the day before, and some are pad locked to street signs. Streets are closed early so people can line the parade route. The local downtown pizza parlor will deliver pizza to your spot on the parade route! There are bands, floats and lots and lots of kids participating. There are prizes for the best floats. All the schools, a lot of the churches and many businesses are represented. It's a big deal. Our temperature today was 84°.... Merry Christmas!

I have my 6-month dental appointment this afternoon, so will leave work a couple of hours early. Hope I don't have to wait too long to get into the chair, so I can get home early! Get started on that motivation I've been missing!
Wishing you a HAPPY FRIDAY and a great weekend ahead!! Peace, love & blessings!

So you have an early Christmas parade. We thought we Filipinos are the only people who start celebrating Christmas as early as September. How wonderful it must be to witness the celebration. I like that float picture you posted. Regards.
ReplyDeleteI dont blame you for not going....I wouldnt either. Too much confusion and the crowds are too big for me. We have a smaller version in the area of town we live in, and we just pull our car into our church parking lot, sit in it, and the parade comes by us! Hope you can get in and out of the dentist early so you can start on your chores and I know you will love having your son there for a week. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteWe don't do huge crowds if we don't have to. I haven't been to a parade in years. When I was younger I enjoyed them. Too loud and crowded now. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWow! That's something I'd love to see but like you, probably wouldn't want to deal with the crowd.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun event for you town! Have a wonderful visit with Jeff.
ReplyDeleteI am wanting to take our grandkids to do something like that, but I feel intimidated by the crowds and fear of losing one of them. Next week we are taking our granddaughter to the Prestonwood Baptist christmas spectacular. I am hoping she will love. It truly is spectacular
ReplyDeleteYou better get yourself in gear!! And then just enjoy the visit.
I don't like being in crowds, so I'd give this parade a miss too. I'm going to do some decorating this weekend too though I don't have my new tree yet. Hope you get to what needs to be done tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your Friday.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I haven't accomplished much either and should be working on cards right now. Enjoy your weekend - don't work too hard!
ReplyDeleteHave fun decorating this weekend. Wishing you a great time!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the week with your son. Beautiful and colorful float. Hugs
ReplyDeleteNorfolk's Winter Parade was this weekend, too. Don't go into downtown Norfolk if we can avoid it.....there are some pretty rough areas you have to pass through, and we just don't know our way around well enough yet to get out of trouble if we should find ourselves in a bad situation.....but the whole thing looked pretty on TV....the lights reflecting on the harbor sure are pretty.
