All About that Bass
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers
is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the
post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be
totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions,"
so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts
and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your
choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is
today's meme!
Saturday 9: All About that Bass (2014)
(A special request from Smellyann)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) This song is body positive. In that spirit: What physical feature
would you never change, no matter what? I like my green eyes and
would never change their color, with contacts or medication.
2) The lyrics mention how often the media uses Photoshop to
present a more ideal female form. Is Photoshop on your computer?
If so, do you know how to use it? I have Photoshop Elements on
my computer, and can use it a little. There is still much to learn.
3) She also sings about Mattel's Barbie doll. According to Toys R Us,
this year's best-selling doll is not Barbie but Disney's Elsa. Have you
seen Frozen? Yes, and Joe and I both enjoyed it, actually.
4) In the video, Meghan dances merrily around her twin bed with its
pink head/footboard. Describe your bed to us. King size, a non-descriptive
headboard, and usually full of sleeping cats.
5) Ms. Trainor began writing songs when she was 11. Would you find it
easier to write lyrics or music? Probably lyrics, but actually neither one
would be easy for me.
6) Meghan recently performed "All About that Bass" on the CMAs with
country star Miranda Lambert. Who is your favorite country singer?
I prefer the old-style country, so have to say Patsy Cline.
7) In September, Meghan had to cancel several concerts because of throat
trouble. Are you battling a cold, cough or sore throat this morning? Praise
God, no.
8) Meghan was born in Nantucket, MA. "Nantucket" is an Algonquian
name that means, "faraway island." How did your town get its name/what
does it mean? Lakeland was incorporated in 1885. There are 38 named
lakes within the corporation limits....thus LAKEland. Settled by Abraham
Munn in the 1870s, our central park is named for him.
9) According to the National Weather Service, between rain and snow,
winter brings Nantucket the most precipitation it sees all year. How is the
weather where you are today? A little chilly, with a high only in the high
70s, but sunny and quite delightful!!
I should admit that I have no idea who this singer is, and have never heard
this song. But the questions are interesting! Thanks for stopping by!! I am
at the Museum all day, for our Art Crawl. Peace & blessings!!

I have never heard of her either. Liked your answers to the questions tho! Hope all goes well today at the Art Crawl.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Chilly!!! HUH! (ROFL)--try 23* wc at 18*. Not complaining though...thanks for the smiles this morning. Blessings
ReplyDeleteI miss 70 degree weather already!
ReplyDeleteVery chilly here this morning. 9am and only 37. Brrr. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI laughed when I read your chilly comment too. It's colder here than the temperature says it is due to the wind coming from the North. Still, it's not too bad.
ReplyDeleteI know I've commented before that I didn't like modern Country either. Give me Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Conway Twitty, Ernest Scruggs, Johnny Cash and Bluegrass any day. I know most people would be shocked at how much I enjoy Heavy Metal. Enjoy your Saturday, Terri.
P.S. Forgot to say I know the origin of Madrid's name - from the Romans, of course.
ReplyDeleteLucky you!!! It's rainy, dreary, and only in the 40s here for the last few days. Even a freeze warning when you get away from the coast. Bah!!! Wishin' I was in Florida 'bout now.
ReplyDeleteAs for the bed....yep, here too!!
