Paint It Black
Welcome
to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that
we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme,
and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do
"random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other
participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is
your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Saturday
9: Paint It Black (1966)
Not
familiar with this week's song? Hear it here.
1) This song was chosen because yesterday was Black Friday, the traditional day of sales. Have you begun your Christmas shopping? Yes, I have started, but I don't "do" Black Friday.
2) Are there any Thanksgiving leftovers in your refrigerator right now? Absolutely. It is why we cook a huge bird and three times as much as we should! Leftovers are the best part of Thanksgiving!
3) AAA says Thanksgiving is a big travel weekend. Did you venture far from home for your holiday dinner? We didn't even step outside the house, except to see our friends off, after dinner.
4) Keith Richards likes France but, alas, the French authorities haven't always been fond of him and his criminal record. Have you ever been to France? I have never been to France, and really have no desire to go to France.
5) Mick Jagger jokes that, to be polite to fellow hotel guests, he always finishes trashing his room by 10:00 PM. What kind of hotel/motel guest are you? Are you rockstar rambunctious, or are you quiet? Are you neat? Have you stolen any towels, bathrobes, etc.? I think we are nice hotel guests. We don't steal (or even take extra shampoos). I cleaned rooms at a motel, two summers when I was in school. I remember!! I always make sure to leave a tip for housekeeping, too.
6) Mick Jagger got his financial savvy as a student at the London School of Economics. Are you good with money? I'm an accountant. It's my job to be good with money....and I keep our books at home, too, even though Joe is a CPA.
7) In the early 1990s, a then little-known actress named Angelina Jolie appeared in a Rolling Stones video ("Anybody Seen My Baby?"). Name an Angelina Jolie movie. 'Maleficent' is her latest, I believe. I'm not a huge fan.
8) In the early 1960s, the Stones nearly avoided tragedy when their tour bus skidded off a bridge. Tell us about a near miss you're thankful for. I guess I have been fortunate. I can't think of anything.
9) In 1966, when this week's song was popular, CBS telecast How the Grinch Stole Christmas for the first time. What's your favorite Dr. Seuss story? I think Dr. Seuss stories are all great, but guess I am partial to "Green Eggs and Ham".

---------------------
I am a big Rolling Stones fan! I well remember when
this song was on the radio every hour! The grandkids left late yesterday
afternoon. Sure wish they could have stayed longer this weekend, but Lauren has
a cat (Catherine) who does okay for two nights all by herself, but not longer.
We understand. Joey is staying until tomorrow morning, so we are enjoying
his company for awhile longer. Darlene is taking care of her brother, who
has prostate cancer, and is also dog-sitting for her daughter's dog. With all
of that (recent happenings) and their own two puppies (who are always welcome
here), she decided to stay in Georgia with Tony and the three dogs. We
have missed her, but are happy for the time with our son, and it was good for
Lauren & Tristan to spend time with their dad! We did get through
Joe's box of old family photos, and started getting them sorted out and handed
down appropriately.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Wishing you a
good Saturday! Peace & blessings!

#6....looks to me that you and Joe go hand in hand with budgeting/money issues!
ReplyDeleteAnd Green Eggs n Ham....I do love it too Sam I am.
I think I must be a 'nerd' or something, 'cause I never listened to Rolling Stones, dont know who Keith Richards or Mick Jagger are. I do know A. Jolie. I am glad you got to spend extra time with your son, and all in all, it looks as if you had a really good Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteOh, I meant to tell you I like your new background. Dr. Seuss is the best for children, and even grown ups sometimes!
ReplyDeleteGreen Eggs and Ham! Loveeeeeeeee Dr. Suess. Thanks for the smiles. Blessings
ReplyDeleteGrinch is my fave Suess story. Sounds like you had a nice Thanksgiving. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI vote for Marvin K. Mooney (Will you please go now?). You must have laughed when you read question number 6. I love leftovers too. As for France I spent a few hours in Nice a long time ago.
ReplyDeleteFun to go through the old family photos, isn't it. I need to do that when the kids are home in mid December. I laughed at your answer to #4. I feel the same way, except that I'd like to visit Normandy. Have a wonderful weekend, Terri. Enjoy another helping of stuffing for me. Love that stuff! (no pun intended.)
ReplyDeleteGood for you having plenty of leftovers. Hope you are able to relax and enjoy the long weekend and the ease of having food ready to eat!
ReplyDeleteYou changed your blog didn't you? I need to d that too. I like it. We didn't go out for Thanksgiving - we stayed in and enjoyed the day. No shopping.
ReplyDeleteThat sure brought back some memories.
