- I need to start cooking dinner more often. We go out to eat way too much. No wonder I've gained weight - again. Why do restaurants give you so much food? I'm sure I read somewhere that restaurant servings are twice the size they used to be. Super-sized everywhere. And I eat it. I was raised in that era when there were starving children in China so you had to clean your plate (or sit there until you did). Can I still blame my parents for my fat cells? Not.
- We don't have plans for this weekend, but I'm sure we'll find something to do (besides laundry).
- The big Lake Mirror Classic Auto Festival is this weekend. The Museum has a tent at the show and we have an exhibit in our main galleries as a 'partnership' with the show. Here is the link for the auto show: Lake Mirror Classic Auto Festival and here is the link for the Museum's exhibit: Future Retro Some of you might remember that we went last year, with our friends from Naples, who came up for a college visit with their son (Tristan's friend). We don't plan to attend this year. My knees aren't up for that much walking, though I do love seeing the classic cars.
- I finished Jan Karon's latest book from the Mitford Series. Have you read them? Did you know she has another one out? It was very good - like all of those stories. I enjoy her books.
- The weather has cooled down a bit, here in sunny Central Florida. The outside temperature, this morning, was 64° and it felt wonderful!! The high will be around 80. No humidity. This is why we live in Florida! The AC is off, and we can open the doors and windows!
Not much else going around here, which isn't a bad thing. I wish you a great weekend!! Thanks for stopping in today! I appreciate your friendship and your comments. Peace & blessings!

I remember you going to the auto festival last year. It sounds like a fun thing to go to.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about restaurants. One thing I do sometimes is split it in half right away, and save half for my lunch the next day. But, there are too many times that I clean my plate!
The book sounds interesting. It's always nice to find a series you love, isn't it! Hope you find something more exciting to do than laundry this weekend, Terri. LOL Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteJim and I have started ordering just one meal and both eating it and that way we dont have leftovers, and the price is nice too! I do remember you all going to the car show last year. Like you, I cant do much walking either. Have a good, restful weekend for a change.
ReplyDeleteI always boast about the low humidity in the summer in Madrid, but would you believe the rest of the year is higher lots of times than it is in Kentucky or Ohio - i don't check Florida. I suppose I eat out more than most Spanish families do. It's certainly a lot cheaper to eat out in the US than here. Tomorrow I'm having lunch at a bar just around the corner from my house, which won't be too expensive because we'll have the menu of the day.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the book...I will add it my list..all the books I seem to read are textbooks at the moment, lol. Blessings
ReplyDeleteI have so much trouble with ordering a meal in a restaurant. It's all too much for me, so I just order a cup of vegetable soup. [wink]
ReplyDeleteI remember you going to the car show last year too. That's been a year already?
I hope you have a great weekend. Take care.
Temps here have been in 70's. It is nice to have the windows open. I love this weather. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a nice weekend - and I am a member of that clean plate club too.
ReplyDeleteTemps here have been cool in the morning and warming up and no rain. Way too dry here. I have the same problem you do with eating all the food on my plate. I think I will take half of it home with me and then I eat 3/4 of it and decide the last 1/4 won't be enough for leftovers so I go ahead and eat it so as not to waste it!! Crazy!!
ReplyDeleteThat book is on my list to read. I'm glad to hear it was good. Happy weekend.
We're cooling off somewhat. Still not cool enough, but getting there. I have read her books. They're some of my favorite easy reads. I don't have to think, just read. :)
