- I haven't mentioned how well our new volunteer did while I was away on our road trip. She is FANTASTIC!! This is the first time in years that I came back from time off to find order and very little to catch up. She handled posting invoices and kept up with receipts and bank deposits! She had only a handful of things to ask about, and the only mistakes were ones she found herself that I had to fix. I only gave her very limited access to the accounting software, so she couldn't make any changes, once she posted something. I released some of the restrictions today. Not all, yet, but some. Her experience is in accounting and human resources, and it shows that she knows what she is doing. Her name is Marilyn, in case I mention her again!
- My knees and my hip were really giving me some trouble, after sitting in the car for so many hours (I guess that's the reason). FINALLY, today I started feeling some relief. I've been wearing my BIG brace and using a cane for a few days, but I think I can finally walk normally tomorrow.
- Friday is here already!! Usually a short week seems to go more slowly than a normal week, but (bless Marilyn) the week has been a breeze!
- I went to the eye doctor yesterday. If you follow me on Facebook, too, you saw my post about being silly to make a morning appointment and having to work in sunglasses for several hours until my pupils returned to normal, after those wicked drops they use. I am happy that there was no change, though I would love some new frames. My vision insurance allows new glasses every year, so I may have to go shopping anyway..... I need something "kickier" to camouflage the
black circles/bagssubtle shadows under my eyes! (I am Terri Kelly D'Orsaneo on Facebook, if anyone wants to connect.) I do not post my blog through Facebook, though. - We are going back to Naples in two weeks, for Lauren's birthday party. Our granddaughter turns 25!! Hard to imagine. We have missed seeing her for most of the last six years, while she was in college and working, in New Jersey, so getting to see her often is wonderful. I love those kids so much, and love being close enough to participate in their lives more often now. Makes me a very happy grandma.
That's my five fragments for this Friday! Thanks for stopping by. Thank goodness it's Friday!! Peace & blessings!

I know what you mean....our oldest grandson is 25 also. Wow.
ReplyDeleteNow, if you ask me, I LOVE those lens frames you shared....the colors.
How nice that Marilyn did such a great job while you were gone! That had to be nice to come back to work to! I bet you and Joe love that Lauren is now only a few hours away from you! It will be nice to be able to special days and holidays with her. Isn't it crazy how fast they grow up? I remember when we first met she had just graduated from high school! I hope your knee continues to feel better. I can see how the long car ride would cause you problems. Have a wonderful weekend, Terri!
ReplyDeleteGood help is hard to find. So glad Marilyn worked out well while you were out of town. You look like you're a fun grandma!
ReplyDeleteTake care of those hips and knees. Sorry they've been giving you grief. Wish I could say I follow you on fb but I've never had a fb account except the one my daughter runs for HomemadeSoapnSuch. Lauren is a beauty. You'll enjoy the birthday party I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have someone who keeps up while you're gone!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Lauren. She's such a pretty girl. Enjoy the party, and rest that knee. :)
I know it was a relief that Marilyn was able to get things done while you were away and you didnt have to go back to work in a mess. I need new glasses too, but just keep putting off going for the exam. Have a good Friday.
ReplyDeleteMy first week back went by slowly but not this week. Hope our weekend slows down though. It's wonderful that you get to see your grands more often.
ReplyDeleteThat is great about Marilyn! Love the new frames..my insurance only pays for new frames every 2nd yr. I do hate those eye drops!! Happy Birthday to Lauren. Bessings
