How can it be Sunday already?!

Good Sunday to you!  This weekend is going much too fast (but don't they all!).

We spent the afternoon at The Red Elephant restaurant, celebrating our neighbor's 60th birthday. It was a small, but lively group of (mostly) relatives and Joe and me.  We have met the family members before, since we have been friends and neighbors for years and years.

The birthday boy, Bob, is in the cap, in the center of the table. His wife, Ginny, is beside him. One of the granddaughters is watching her grandpa.

From the other end of the table, so you can see Joe at the end, on the left.

Another shot of the birthday boy.

The Red Elephant has a big menu, and the salads are delicious. Joe and I both had the Southwest Chicken Salad. I had spicy ranch dressing on mine. Yum.

The name of the restaurant is strange, but the menu explains it. I think you can read it, if interested, by clicking on the photo to enlarge it. There are red elephants throughout the restaurant, both on the walls and standing here and there.

Our son, Joey, called last night to tell us the closing is done on their house and by this time next weekend, he and Darlene will be together, waiting for the movers to show up (Sunday or Monday). Darlene finished up her last dance class last week, at her Darlene DeMayo Dance Studio. She posted a video on Facebook of the last zumba class, dancing to Donna Summers' "Last Dance". There were tears.  She is happy to be done with the studio, though, and is ready for what life brings in Georgia. She won't be starting her own studio again, however.  Here is a link, if you want to see the last dance (posted public on her FB page):  https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10203910656147879

We have no plans, again, for today.  Just the usual laundry and some light cleaning. If the weather holds, perhaps a dip in the pool.  Onyx continues to get stronger and more active, and we are so thankful! Wishing you a blessed day!! Thanks for stopping by!!

  1. Looks like a fun time at the Red Elephant, but dining with friends is always a good time. Watched the You Tube and I can understand they will miss her terribly. Church for us and thats it. Jim isnt feeling good so he may not go. Hope you have a relaxing and blessed day dear friend.

  4. I'm so happy that Onyx is getting stronger and another part of your family is moving closer. Thanks for sharing the video link. Having your own business is tough as you well know.

Looks like everyone enjoyed themselves at the birthday meal. For once we didn't ask for too much food yesterday at the Indian. As a matter of fact, we chose from a set menu although we all had some kind of chicken. Enjoy what's left of your weekend.

  5. I love lazy Sundays. I had to stop myself from doing laundry. Church today is in the park and an Elvis impersonator will be doing gospel songs, and First Nations will be drumming and Krishnas will be chanting and local song groups will all be praising God in their own way. I find it interesting and enlightening.

Congrats and good wishes for Joey and Darlene on their big move.
The party looked to be a success. Hope you and the 'birthday boy' had fun.
Enjoy your relaxing Sunday. Stare at the clock for a bit this afternoon. Maybe it will slow down. :)

    1. They will be near Brunswick, GA. We are excited to have them 4 hours away, instead of 18 hours away!

  9. We have been to the Red Elephant many times, and introduced Ginny and Bob to it, when it opened. We just hadn't been there in awhile. The best dessert is an elephant ear, warm, with a dip of ice cream on it. Oh my goodness!!

  11. I went online and looked at the menu last night when you mentioned it. There are so many delicious sounding options! Is the pizza wonderful or just okay? It does look like a good place for return trips.
    Hooray for Onyx!!!

  12. Looks like your neighbor had a great birthday. Red Elephant looks like a restaurant I would go to if we had one here. That is exciting that your son and daughter in-law closed on their house. I loved the video of her last Zumba dance. How fitting that they did it to Donna Summer's Last Dance!
