We had a nice day today. Slept late, made a nice breakfast, puttered around and got the laundry started. I put a pork roast in the crock pot, and we went to the movies.

We saw "42", which is the true story of Jackie Robinson, the first black person to play on a major league baseball team. It was very well done! It was tough. It was hard to watch at times. The audience actually applauded at the end, which doesn't happen very often anymore. I highly recommend it.
The last load of laundry is in the dryer and we are watching "Once Upon A Time", then "Revenge".
Tomorrow morning, I see my orthopedic doctor, and am hoping, hoping, hoping, that they got approval from my new health insurance company, Blue Cross Blue Shield to give me the Synvisc injections in my knees. If you remember previous 'discussions' about this, Aetna Insurance would not pay for Synvisc, but approved Euflexa, instead. We know that Synvisc works for me. Fingers crossed!! I don't like getting that big needle stuck into my knee, but I do like the results it gets.
A request for my prayer partners, please. My brother-in-law, Greg, is having surgery on Tuesday, at the Cleveland Clinic, for thyroid cancer. Pray for a successful surgery, for his surgeon and the surgical team, and for a good recovery. Thank you so much!
I hope you have had a good Sunday! I wish you a wonderful week ahead! Peace, love & hugs.
Praying that you get the approval for Synvisc and also praying for your bil. God bless you both. My husband would enjoy this movie.
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear you had a nice day today and enjoyed movies. Praying for you and for Greg. Hugs, Maggie
ReplyDeleteThe applause at the end of the movie is something quite normal in Spain. I mean it doesn't always happen but it's not unusual. I think that's one I might prefer to watch at home.
ReplyDeleteI pray that your brother-in-law's surgery is successful and that Blue Cross Blue Shield come through for you.
I'd like to see 42. I'm glad you likes it. Good luck at Dr. Hope they approve your meds
ReplyDeleteHi Terri. I'm praying for your brotherinlaw Gregg's surgery and that you can get relief for your knees. It's hard to ignore pain. I keep watch for that movie. Sounds like a good one. I remember reading a biography of Jackie Robinson when I was in 9th grade. May God bless you this day.
ReplyDeleteI had a lovely dinner with girlfriends tonight. They were talking about the movie, too - - said it was excellent! Praying insurance works well for you. We have been less than impressed with some of our "benefits" the last couple of years. Do you take any kind of supplements like glucosamine? Or any aspirin? Also, is your water intake adequate? Do you do the straight leg exercises they prescribe in PT? The reason I ask is because I had arthroscopic knee surgery in 2004. They cleaned out a LOT and I had bad swelling for longer than I anticipated. I do the things I asked you about. Although my knees will never be perfect again - - and I have to be careful with them - - - I don't have the pain and swelling that used to be present.
