Thank you to all who answered my prayer requests yesterday. I just ask that you continue, please. My blogging friend, Charles' wife Pat, just got a cancer diagnosis, so pray, pray, pray!! Continue, too, for Steve, Donald and Joe. Joe had his CT scan this morning, but no appointment yet for the results. I will keep you posted. I believe in the awesome power of prayer. Thank you!I had another productive day at work, which is good. Thursday I will be out of the office all day. There is a FAM (Florida Association of Museums) seminar on Museum Security, over at the Vero Beach Museum of Art. It is a 2+ hour drive. Our Manager of Security, Bill, and I will be heading over around 8:15 Thursday morning, and we won't be back in Lakeland until 8:00 or 8:30. A long day, and no time for Facebook or Blogger, I'm afraid. Bill asked me to drive, so I'm driving. It will be good to hear about new security systems and issues, and also to network a bit with other Museum professionals.
I supervise the security and maintenance department. I'm blessed that Bill requires little supervision!! That hasn't always been the case. He is the 5th manager in the 16 years I've been there, and he has already told me he is retiring in another year (he is 66). I don't even want to think about losing him, after four years of him making it so easy for me to concentrate on things other than maintenance and security! His wife, Elaine, also works with us, in a different department (but under my supervision, too). I hope she doesn't go just because he does, but they like to cruise and travel, so we will probably be hit with two vacancies in another year.
Three of our four cats were outside when I got home tonight, and I got a great photo of them lounging on the patio. Lucy is on the grill, and that is HER place. The others are not allowed up there! Lilly and Onyx are on the chairs. Cookie was inside, in her cardboard scratch lounge. We had another beautiful day, today!
I saw this comic on Facebook and it made me chuckle so I shared it there and decided to share it here, too.
Today is the first day in three weeks of Weight Watchers that I actually felt - not just hungry, but famished. My blood sugar was probably down, because I really, really wanted to buy something from the snack shelf at work. I didn't, but I really, really wanted to. Chewed some gum and drank some water. Sigh. Why isn't there a pill you can take that just keeps you at the perfect weight??!!! I am determined, though.
Wishing you a good Wednesday! Thanks again for keeping my friends and my dear husband on your prayer lists! Thank you! Peace, love & hugs.

Good morning, Terri! Prayers continue for you friends and Joe! I too believe in the awesome power of prayer! I'm sure you hate to see Mike retire and possibly his wife as well. When you have a wonderful employee in place it makes your job/life so much easier. I hope when the time comes, you will be able to find an excellent replacement. You are doing so well with your WW program. Good for you for not giving into the snack temptation! Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your prayers, Kris, and for cheering me on with WW!!
DeletePrayers will continue for sure. I know it will be hard losing a good employee - two even, and hoping their replacements will do as good a job as they do now. You are a strong lady not to give in to food; unless someone has been there, they dont know how hard it is. Hope you have a really good day this Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the prayers, Linda!
DeleteAwww cute pic! Wow you have willpower! I would have had a snack. And most likely not a healthy snack. lol Enjoy your meeting
ReplyDeleteI came real close, Kim, to getting that snack. I figured the points on the Famous Amos cookies (8 points), the Goldfish (5 points) and the popcorn (3 points). The granola bars (5 points), too. Not so hungry yet today. Had a salad with some turkey breast on it for lunch (6 points). With WW, I can have anything I want, but the points count toward my daily allotment, which is 38. I try to save the most points for dinner.
DeleteI'm sorry Terri, that I'm have not been keeping up very well. I've been reading blogs here and there but I've just been so sick I've stayed off line quite a bit. I will pray for your friends. I too believe that God is a healer and that no problem is too big for him.
ReplyDeleteHope the rest of the week is as lovely at that photo look!
Cynthia, don't worry about it! You have been so sick and in such pain. Thanks for stopping by, and for the prayers!! You are in my prayers, too!
DeleteProbably one day there will be such a pill! Doesn't it make you jealous just a little when you see how the fur children spend their day?
ReplyDeleteKeeping everyone in mind for prayers, and hope you have a good seminar on Thursday. I like learning new things too.
Yes, Brenda, jealous of those pampered fur babies, for sure! Thanks for the prayers!
DeletePrayers for your friends, Joe, and you as well. I finally found your blog. I went to your google page in the past and never saw a link, but found it today. I wasn't ignoring you in the past, I just thought maybe you didn't keep one. lol
ReplyDeleteGlad you found me, Mandi! Thanks for the prayers!
DeletePrayers for your husband and friends.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos of your cats lounging. Lol they have it made in the shade!
Funny comic up there too lol.
Have a good night. I am feeling sleepy already!
Prayers for your hubby and friends too. I hope the hungries have gone away. Glad your cats stayed around the house too! sandie
ReplyDeleteI will keep you in my prayers out in the mountains. One good thing about that isolation is that I have a lot of time for meditation and praise and supplications.
