Finally Friday!
Hello and happy Friday evening!
I really missed being in touch with you yesterday, and I'm late getting around to blogs today. I think I got caught up on Facebook, but I'll be another day catching up on Blogger. Everyone seems to have posted and I don't want to miss anything!!
The workshop in Vero Beach yesterday was worth the ride over. We got a nice tour of their new (not quite a year old) expansion. They spent $9.2 million on a 20,000 square foot addition and none of it is gallery space. They have a really beautiful loading dock, prep area, photography studio, matting and framing area, a generator the size of a room, that can keep them powered up for seven days, if a storm knocks out the power. They are only eight feet above sea level there, so even category one storms can cause the grounds to flood. They are well prepared, now, for a wind and rain disaster.
The workshop was on Museum security, and there were two speakers. One, an expert on security procedures, and the other developed a software product that is pretty amazing. We can't afford either of them, but I have certainly put the software product on my wish list for our Museum. We hope to begin a couple of expansion projects in a year or so, and I will try to get a new security system added to the list. Our current security system is good and does a fine job for us, but we can always do better!
Today was busy at work, so much so that I was there after quitting time, and didn't even realize it. I was ready to start another project when I looked at the clock. Needless to say, I didn't start another project! When I got home, Joe wanted Chinese, so we went to our favorite Peking House (I counted points!) and then to Publix for a few things.
No special weekend plans. I will go to Weight Watchers in the morning, for my weigh-in. I need to get some cleaning done, with our son and his girlfriend coming next weekend. Of course, church. Laundry is on my Sunday list of things to do.
Joe is to have his catheterization done on Wednesday, so I will be taking that day off. It is out-patient, but they will put him under and it is being done at the hospital, rather than the surgical center. Your prayers are appreciated. This will be the fourth time he has gone through this, so we know what to expect, for the most part. Hoping they don't find a new blockage or that one of his stents has closed up. If they do, we trust our cardiologist, and know he will get it fixed. We haven't heard from Joe's general practitioner about the results of the CT scan of his esophagus. Not sure what that hold-up is about, but perhaps no news is good news. Thanks again for prayers and positive energy sent our way!
Wishing you a good weekend! Thanks for stopping by my page! Peace, love & hugs.

Praying for Joe... God bless him. ** Chinese? I love Chinese food. ** It sounds like the workshop was interesting. I love the photos. It sounds like the museum in Vero Beach is a fantastic place. I wish I could go through it. ** You have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'll be praying for you and Joe as well. May God bless you and help the doctors to have good judgment. The workshop sounded interesting. I can't imagine having to deal with possible hurricanes. I guess I should stop complaining about the snow. :-) Hope you have a good weekend, Terri.
ReplyDeleteI will be praying for Joe. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the workshop. Chinese is one of our favorites, also. Hope you enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteWill be thinking and praying for Joe and others in need. Happy that you enjoyed your conference the other day.
ReplyDeleteOne of your sculptures reminds me of Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park in Ohio. We were so lucky the day we went we didn't have to pay admission to get in. Have a good Saturday.
Prayers continue for Joe! The workshop sounded great. I don't think a business (especially a museum) can go wrong with putting money into the budget to upgrade the security:-) Enjoy the next couple of days and good luck with your weigh-in!
ReplyDeleteI miss having Chinese food. My family won't eat it.
ReplyDeleteGlad your workshop was worth the long drive. Laundry is always on my To Do list. lol Have a great weekend!
Praying for Joe and you, as you care for him after the procedure. Sounds like your trip was worth it, and you have good info for the future of your museum. We enjoy Chinese too, but opted for fish for dinner last night. We ran all day yesterday so it was nice not to have to cook. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeletePrayers for Joe. I wish you the best for your weigh in.
