Simply Saturday....

Sometimes it is hard to think of a title for a blog.  This one means nothing, but I did find a photo to go along with it!!

Slept in, without an alarm this morning.  That always feels so good.  Hungry cats woke me up, though, around 7:30.  I got up and showered, dressed, etc., and went to Weight Watchers.  The news was not good.  Their scales only registered a .2 pound loss (that is point two!).  After two weeks, basically no loss at all, but at least I didn't gain.  I have been counting my points and following the plan.  I think I remember that this happened last time.  My body is trying to hold onto fat since I've reduced the calories.  I really should be walking, but it causes me some pretty bad pain in the knees when I walk too much.  Once the pool water warms up, I can begin to swim and get some exercise that way....kick up the metabolism a bit.  I'm not discouraged, just disappointed.  Next week will be better!

Today, I pulled the curtains down in the guest room, and gathered all the bedding to get everything washed before Jeff and Shiree come.  Anyone with cats (or dogs) knows how the fur gets in the air and is everywhere.  I have already closed the door in there, to keep the cats out, and will dust and vacuum a few times this week, to get any dander up and out.

Our pool area/patio needs some attention too.  There are cobwebs everywhere.  Busy spiders!!  Perhaps I'll get to that today or tomorrow.  We have a little tool called a webster, that has an extendable handle and makes it easy to get the cobwebs cleaned up.  The spiders aren't too smart, because the screening keeps out all but the tiniest bugs - there is not much food for them to capture in their webs.

I have a confession to make.  I bought a diaper bag to use as a purse.  Why doesn't someone make a purse like the diaper bags of today?  All those little cubbies and dividers!!  I fell in love with a pink one, trimmed in peace signs (hey, I was a teenager in the 60s!).  It looks like a purse to me (after cutting off the BabyBag tag).  I change purses every two or three weeks, so I'm not planning to carry it forever, but it is big enough for all my junk, including my e-reader, and I can even put a bottle of water in the baby bottle holder.  It's water proof, so nothing else will get wet.  Brilliant!!  Am I crazy?  I never bought a diaper bag before.  My boys were 16 and 20 when we entered each others' lives.  It was on sale, marked down to $28.00 from $59.00.  Anyway, I love it and only hope strangers who see me carrying it don't think I've lost my mind!  Do you?

Thanks for stopping by!  Wishing you a great weekend!  Peace, love & hugs.

  1. So glad you got to sleep in a little this morning....it almost feels like a mini-vacation when you can do that. I love the new pocketbook and love those pockets...I have to have them too, so no, it looks just exactly like a cook purse to me! I know you are looking forward to your company and everything will be spotless when they arrive. Hugs

  2. I like your new bag a lot more than those Vera Bradlley ones, some of which I find way too loud and they don't go with very much. Sorry if you're a fan. I never thought of buying a diaper bag, but now that I've seen yours I want one too (and with peace signs)! Enjoy your day!

    1. No, Brenda, I'm not a fan of the Vera Bradlley bags. They are over-priced and the fabrics are definitely too loud (most, anyway).

  3. Hi Terri. Glad to hear you started back at Weight Watchers. Don't be discouraged or disappointed. Give it some time, and I'm sure the program will work for you like last time. I can't wait to step on the scale in a few days and see my weight. With having this cast on my foot for 12 weeks, I never knew how much the cast weighed. I'm pretty sure I'm about the same or a pound or two lighter. But I can't wait to get back to the gym. I love lifting weights and working my mid section. That should be easy on the foot. If you never said that was a diaper bag, I wouldn't have known it. And if anyone wonders, then your one "hip" grandma!

  4. Doesn't look like a diaper bag to me. I wouldn't have known if you hadn't told me. It is cute. I love big bags too. I had a denim diaper bag when my son was little so my hubby wouldn't be embarassed to carry it. lol

  5. Years ago I joined Weight Watchers with a neighbor. She drove most of the time - and she loved to stop for pizza on the way home. lol She starved herself for 3 days before a meeting. Needless to say, I didn't continue going.

I had a Webster tool too, till my daughter 'borrowed' it. She said she needed it for her new cathedral ceilings. lol It always worked great to clean my ceiling fans. I should get another one. I get spiders inside quite often here, and have ceiling fans in every room, except the bath.

Great bag! It doesn't look like a diaper bag to me.

  6. Diana, we love our webster thingy. It reaches the tops of the screens around the pool and patio, so takes the hard part our of cleaning cobwebs. I never thought about one for the ceiling fans. We have them in every room too (except the bathrooms). Can't be without them here in Florida. Thanks for agreeing that my new "purse" doesn't look like a diaper bag!!

  7. Hi Terri! I love your new purse..I don't think it looks like a diaper bag at all! Scooby shares his fur with all of us so I totally understand where you are coming from. Before my mom arrived yesterday, my house got a good cleaning too :-) Hope your Sunday is going great!

  8. No, you haven't lost your mind...I had a great diaper bag when my son was born, it was red corduroy and I loved it because it didn't look like the usual diaper bag. It held all my usual purse items plus everything I needed for him. I wish I still had that bag...I would still use it, but I wore it out.

  9. That is a cute bag. I've seen some very nice diaper bags that would make a great purse, but never bought one. I don't think you're crazy. It's a good idea.
