Old Cypress Gardens....

Refer to my previous post about Legoland. I went through some old photos and found these of Cypress Gardens when it was still pristine and beautiful.  The topiary was amazing!  The first one is of Jeff and Joe with one of the REAL Southern Belles (unlike the Lego Southern Bells you see now).

  1. How beautiful! I was at Cypress Gardens with my mom and dad, and my grandma and grandpa - years and years ago. I remember how beautiful it was - like a fairytale, especially to a little girl from Wisconsin.

  2. So beautiful! In the late 1980's Cypress Gardens was always on our list of "must see" places while on vacation in Florida. The gardens were truly breathtaking. If I remember right they actually closed for a year or so and when they reopened they were nothing like they used to have been.

  6. The last time I was at Cypress Gardens was about twenty years ago, and it was so beautiful. Then there was the first time I went over 45 years ago, and I was there with my parents. I loved the water ski show, and I knew several people from other states who had performed there in the summers, including a friend of my sister's. Oh, how I loved it. And I even had a Dick Pope slolum ski and was so proud of it. I wonder where it is now? My mother probably gave it away when I left home. You really took me back with this post!

How is LegoLand? I bet it's fun for kids. My godson always loved Legos when he was young. I once took him to Toys 'R Us and told him to pick out any lego thing he wanted, and he got a ship. Of course, he had another one just like it, but having two was too cool for him to pass! Hey, I understand. I'm that way with shoes! ;-)

    XO,

  7. The Gardens were beautiful. Too bad it's not all still there. Her gown was fantastic. Can you imagine the ladies still dressing like that? When I see them I always think of Miss Scarlet.
Thank you for sharing your pictures.
