I have lost so many loved ones. I know life goes on for those of us left behind. It's just the way it is. We miss our family and friends who have passed before us, but life goes on. We have to keep going.
Joe took Helen to the funeral home this morning. All the arrangements are made to get our dear friend sent off to Virginia, where he will be buried. Helen decided to not have a service here. All the family that is left, are 'up north'. She and her niece will fly up and stay with a nephew. The service will be at graveside.
We took Helen out to dinner tonight. She took enough food home with her to last at least another day. She seems to be doing okay, but is still worried about paperwork. Joe will help with that, and getting the tax return done. Her Pastor has been in touch (but hasn't visited!).
Work is keeping me busy, and this week is full of meetings, which means my work isn't getting done while I sit in meetings. There is always next week! Life goes on!
This Saturday is the Lake Morton Historic District Home and Garden Tour. We have gone the last two years, and really enjoy it. Ten homes are on this year's tour, and it starts at the Museum. Looking forward to it. These are mostly 1920s bungalows that have been renovated, some of them true to the period, and others modernized. It's fun to see what has been done to them.
Hoping you have had a good Tuesday. Peace, love & hugs.

You and Joe are certainly good friends, and I know Helen appreciates your kindness. Sleep good and maybe tomorrow you can get caught up on work. Pray for Jim please...he is going down so fast Terri, and I am just lost as to what to do. Maybe as you posted, just go on. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're there for your friend during this tough time. My heart goes out to her.
ReplyDeleteI love home tours and love bungalows! How I would love to see them.
Keeping Helen in my thoughts and prayers. I saw an article about scammers and the elderly the other day and thought of that nice policeman.
ReplyDeleteYou and Joe are such a blessing to Helen. And you are so right..Life does go on. I bet the garden tour is something awesome to see! Glad you were able to get some relief from your Chiropractor. I hope your week calms down a bit:-)
ReplyDeleteHelen is very lucky to have you and Joe.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the chiro is helping you feel better. Can't wait to see pics of the house tour.
That home and garden tour sounds like a nice thing to do. I hope you will be able to show us some photos of it afterwards, it is not too awkward to take photos in other people's homes..
ReplyDeleteMy best and lots of strength to your friend Helen to get through these difficult times.
