January 21st: Wednesday Hodgepodge Time

Another fun Hodgepodge from our hostess, Joyce!  You can join the fun by clicking HERE!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 637

From this Side of the Pond

1. Ice skating, skiing, sledding, snowshoeing, playing in the snow, or a snowy walk...which winter activity do you choose? Have you done any of these activities so far this winter?  No thanks to all of those, but I have done all but snowshoeing during my lifetime.  I loved ice skating best of all!!

2. Everyone is posting pictures from ten years ago on their social media sites, so let's jump on the bandwagon too. Share one photo and one thought to go with said photo from the year 2016. And maybe everyone isn't doing this, but many are, and we're going to be part of the fun.  I looked back to about this time 10 years ago, and we had a houseful of nieces and nephews who were here to celebrate great-niece Lexie's 21st birthday!

3. What's a trend you hope disappears in this new year? Hate.  I would love for hate to disappear from the world.

4. 'They' say there's a day for everything, and January 21st proves it. National Granola Bar Day. Do you like granola bars? How about just regular granola? Do you like bars of other kinds?  I'm not crazy about granola in any form, but if I am hungry and that's all there is, I will eat granola.  Other bars?  Belvita cookies are okay, but I'm just not into cereal.

5.  A frozen lake, a trickling stream, a raging river, or a deep well...which one describes something about your life right now? Elaborate as much or as little as you like.  I don't know.  A trickling stream, perhaps.  Meandering along, not in a hurry but still going somewhere.

6. Insert your own random thought here.  I have a cold.  I guess it was just a matter of time.  It's been all around me, and I was happy to have avoided it.  I woke up with one of those sore throats that hurts when you swallow.  My colds always start that way.  I had to cancel my trip on the bus with friends yesterday.  I canceled lunch with friends today.  I don't feel horrible, but I sure don't want to spread the germs around, and I don't feel good.  Bah-humbug.  I just have to get through it.  I'm hoping to feel like attending Bible study tomorrow, but I have a prayer workshop at church on Saturday, so I might just take it easy for the rest of the week so I can attend the workshop.  Time will tell.

Peace and Hugs!

  1. OH NO, Terri! I am SO sorry you caught a cold! All that traveling through time and space and colder climates finally caught up with you! That is NO fun, and I am truly sorry you had to miss the bus trip to the Yalaha Bakery and beyond...and all the other things of this week, but I have a feeling your body needs the rest after your whirlwind trip last week! So I am glad you are staying home and resting. I do pray you will feel better by Saturday. I love seeing your memories from 10 years ago...you and Joe looked so healthy and happy. I am glad you have those wonderful pictures to look back and remember happy times with family. It's amazing how quickly time is passing these days...10 years is like a blink of the eyes! Wow. Anyway, dear friend, please take care and rest and feel better soon. (((HUGS)))

  3. Hope you feel better soon. Slow down and lots of chicken soup! I think I am a tinkling stream, too.

  4. Feel better soon, Terri! Yes, it's wise to stay home and get some rest. You've been straight out with activities as of late, so I'm really not surprised that you caught that cold. Loved your photos from 2016, too. Blessings!

  6. Sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather as "they" say. Hope you get better soon. I enjoyed reading your answers, and I loved this ~ Meandering along, not in a hurry but still going somewhere. I think that is a great comment and is true for a lot of us.

  8. Hoping you feel MUCH BETTER VERY SOON! Maybe for tomorrow's fashion question, you should give us a selection of cute jammies to wear when we're not feeling well????

  9. I really want to try snowshoeing but we haven't had near enough snow for that.
What wonderful throwback photos from 2016.
Wouldn't it be amazing for all hate to disappear from the world.
