Things to Ponder
Across much of the USA autumn has come early.
It's so nice and chilly here that I made myself a nice cup of pumpkin spice coffee today, an autumn treat I really enjoy. While I enjoyed my cuppa, I was pondering a few things I want to do with my home.
Here are some questions for you to ponder:
1. If you could live in the world of any movie, which one would you choose and why? I'm sorry, but I can't think of any movie in which I would like to live.
2. If you could have coffee or tea with a woman from history or from fiction come to life, who would that be and why? How about my great-grandmother! We share the same middle name, Lee, and I never got to meet her. She died in 1952.
3. If you could create an autumn-themed festival, what unique events or foods would it feature? The thought of this just makes me tired!! I'm too old to create a themed festival of any kind! I can tell you that there wouldn't be anything pumpkin-spiced. How about cider, caramel corn, chili, cornbread, and apple fritters with cinnamon ice cream? Someone else can plan the games. Bah-humbug!
4. If autumn had a personality, how would you describe it, and what kind of friend would it be? Cool, calm, and happy!
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens...
Ecclesiastes 3

LOL! Bah Humbug! LOL. You are funny. But I totally understand. I'm too tired to plan anything anymore either. I did all my planning when I was young and our kids were little and we did have a lot of fun...but those days are over for me and I am happy to see younger people taking over such things! I'm more of a hot apple cider, apple pie, apple anything kind of person too, as opposed to so much pumpkin overkill! I love the picture of your Great Grandmother! I wish I could've met mine too, especially the one who was the birth mother of my paternal grandmother, since she put my grandmother up for adoption and my grandmother never knew her or her birth father. I have a feeling they've met in heaven by now! I enjoyed your post, and now I need to go do this one for me before I give away all my answers here! LOL. Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteI'll come plan with you! You got the food choices covered and they sound great, I'll work on some games.
ReplyDeleteI like that picture of your great grandmother and that you got your middle name from her.
I have a friend who is great at thinking up themes for dinners we have at church; I am great at helping her make them happen but NOT for thinking them up! lol I do love Autumn!
ReplyDeleteThe food at your bah humbug festival sounds great to me! What a lovely thought to meet your great grandmother! I would like to do that as well. I am named after my father's grandmother. Thanks so much for joining in!
ReplyDeleteLike you, I'm too tired to chair a festival of any kind. Nevertheless, please save me an extra large bowl of chili and cornbread. Cinnamon ice cream sounds divine!
ReplyDeleteI am where you are Terri, I have served and planned for years and years and I am kind of tired. Waiting for others to do their part. Like your food ideas!
ReplyDeleteI don't even care to go to festivals any more, let alone create one. Love that photo of your beautiful great-grandmother! Maybe, we can all be reunited with those special family members when we join them in heaven. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteIt has been chillier here too and I am loving it!
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of your festival foods, they seem to be all the things which we either don't get or are popular here in the UK. I would love to try them!
I had to chuckle at your answer to organizing a festival. I kind of feel the same! I don't dislike pumpkin spice but I can go without it if needs be, lol. I do however love the autumn season with all its beautiful colours. Do you get the fall foliage where you live? It would have been fun for you to meet your great grandmother. I never got a chance to meet my grandmother and I was too young to remember my great grandmother when she passed so I understand the desire well. Enjoy your autumn Terri.
ReplyDeleteChili and cornbread - yum!! I love to make and eat soups and chili in the fall and winter.
