Four of us spent a great couple of hours at the very big Holiday Craft Show on Saturday, at our local civic center (RP Funding Center). It was huge (well over 150 vendors), and they had almost anything you might want to look at and hopefully purchase. I snapped a couple of photos, but they don't really show anything of interest. We arrived early, before it began at 10:00, and were in line with over 100 who got there before we did.
Judy bought a few things. Sandy made a couple of purchases. Sharon looked but didn't buy! I got four soup mixes and used the potato soup already. I also bought this cross...
It was just fun to get out and about with some girlfriends.
Yesterday, after church, I started my laundry, heated up a bowl of that potato soup, and put Charlie Kirk's Memorial Service on TV. Yes, I watched from 12:30 until it was over, well after 6:00. I am so sorry for our loss of that great man, who was just getting started, but I was very proud of all who spoke, and what they all had to say. Praise God, and God bless America.
This week, I will pick up my friend, Anne, at the Moffitt Cancer Center. She is coming home for a few days. I'll take her back at the end of the week.
On Tuesday, I will see a new doctor. I'm changing my primary physician and hope this one is as good as my friend says he is. She and her husband love him. Fingers crossed. My current doctor (of 8 years) just doesn't pay attention to me anymore. She doesn't even look me in the eye anymore. She wasn't like that before the last few appointments. Not sure what's going on with her. Maybe she is just tired of 15-minute appointments all day long.
On Thursday, I have Bible Study in the morning and dinner out with friends that evening. The Women's Group at my church is having a meal out on Friday evening! I'm looking forward to it! The Fall Bible Study on Proverbs is starting soon. I think I will join this year.
On Saturday, I have to go to a visitation for an old acquaintance who died at 91 years old. His wife was the art teacher at Santa Fe Catholic High School, where I worked for four years before going to the art museum. I saw them both back in January at the medical clinic just before my foot surgery. I was sad to read his obituary in yesterday's newspaper.
That's my weekend, and my week ahead. Wishing you all blessings... thanks for your visit!

That fair looked like a lot of fun...and yes, I was moved yesterday's service for Charlie Kirk. We sat there, cried, laughed and just prayed.
ReplyDeleteThe fair looks like fun! I thought the service was so good. I was in awe of how much the gospel was shared by so many. What a tremendous loss, but we know God works all things for His glory and we can rest in that knowledge today. Have a nice week Terri!
ReplyDeleteThe craft event looked fabulous. The packaging of the soups reminded me of the soup mixes (and other mixes) I purchased from Gooseberry Patch back in the day. I miss the days when my mom and I would hit the craft shows from mid September to the beginning of December most weekends. It was always fun to browse and pick items up. I hope your appointment with your new doctor goes well, Terri. Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteThe craft show looks like fun - so much to see. I like the cross you purchased - it's perfect for you because you always say you are blessed.
ReplyDeleteWe watched the memorial yesterday too, the whole thing. The gospel was proclaimed! We thought some of the speakers were really good and Erika Kirk was amazing.
I have a Dr appt this week too. I hope your new dr is good!
Looks like a fun time with friends!!! Yes, the Lord will make much good from the death of this godly man. (I thought of the one kernel of corn dying to make so much more) I hope your dr turns out great! The one I switched to in June has already left the practice and the PA that I met last week was very lukewarm. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteWe watched most of the memorial service, too, Terri, and it was both moving and inspiring. May Charlie's legacy be revival across this nation. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! The holiday craft show looks like a great day out and what great buys!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your new doctor. It sounds like you have a busy week planned.
Hi Terri, the fair looks like a wonderful 😊 experience. Potato soup sounds wholesome, heartwarming and delicious.
ReplyDeleteI wish you all the best with your new doctor. Thank you so much for sharing ❤️
That craft fair looks so inviting with the wide aisle(s) and colorful decor!
ReplyDeleteYes, we watched Charlie Kirk's service from beginning to end. I think they did a wonderful job, tho' I confess to feeling nervous with President Trump, Vance, Musk and all those elected officials under one roof. Praise God for the security teams!
That business about your primary's seeming lack of interest (and eye contact) is unsettling; I hope you hit it off splendidly with the new provider!
I really need to go to a craft show. They are few and far between. Usually there is one in Pensacola each fall. I am going to have to look it up and see if Lindsay and I can swing it.
ReplyDeleteI watched almost all of the service yesterday too. I was so happy to see all the music and those that chose to do that for Charlie. The world will attack them for choosing to be there I know. It was wonderful to see that much praise for Jesus and sad at such a loss for us. He was too young.
Yes, I watched most of the service yesterday too. Praising God for all the wonderful messages, even from those I would not have expected to speak about Jesus as they did! It was quite amazing and uplifting. Praying for our nation to get back to God. This was a good start, even if under such terrible circumstances. They meant it for evil, but God meant it for good. I'm sorry you are having issues with your PCP. We've been having some here too, but then they brought in a new doctor all of a sudden. Time will tell if he will stay, and if he will be better than the PA's we usually see. I hope you have a good week. I'm sorry about your friend who died, but he certainly lived a good long life at 91. Praying for his wife and family. Take care my friend.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteThat holiday craft show was huge! I could have spent all day in there. The one I'm participating in next month only has 50 vendors but I'm so excited for it.
ReplyDeleteThat's sad about your friend. It must have been shocking to read about his death in the paper. Praying your new doctor is amazing and spends quality time with you!
So glad you all had a great time! Maybe I can join you next year!
