The Tuesday 4 on July 1st...

July!!  How can that be?!! Thanks to Annie for today's questions!!  Join in HERE!

This week is about work.

1. Describe the best job you ever had, and why was it good?  (if it was awful, tell us about that instead)  The best job was my 20+ years at the art museum.  The work was interesting and engaging, I was proud of our mission, and the staff was like family.  Non-profits don't pay the best, but the benefits were above average and excellent!

2.  How did you learn to do your job?  I had experience when I won the position at the museum.  I had been a business manager, a bookkeeper, and worked in human resources before interviewing at the museum.  On-the-job-training (OJT) works well.

3. You are now in charge of your town's public relations committee.. Tell us why we need to move to your town.  If you have been an attentive reader of my blog, I really don't need to repeat myself.  I LOVE Lakeland and have lived here for 36 years.  The location is perfect, between Orlando and Tampa.  We don't flood, we are not usually in the path of the hurricanes, and we have everything a person could want or need within 10 miles.  Come down and I'll convince you!!

4.
It's lunch time! Build your perfect sandwich for us... What's in it and on it, and what's in our cups?  I'm not a big sandwich eater, but I will order a good Reuben in a restaurant now and then.  I also like the Italian Beef sandwich from Portillo's.  I can't remember the last sandwich I made here at home because I'm not eating that much bread these days.  Ham and cheese on toast or turkey with butter.  Tomato, lettuce...  That works!

Peace and Hugs!

  4. Sandwiches -- such a wonderful invention. But yes, the bread has carbs and usually gluten.

  5. Hi Terri, I have worked in an office as a secretary and as a receptionist, and I worked in retail later on for 17 years...both as a clerk, then as a manager. I enjoyed the jobs I did. Great memories here, thank you so much for sharing.

  6. Your job at the art museum does sound like a great job and interesting too. It sounds like your past experience really helped you bag the job.

  7. I do love a good Reuben, Terri, but like you, I'm not eating too much bread these days. I did find out that if you freeze bread, then thaw it (of course), and toast it before you eat it, it makes the carbs have fewer sugars. Oh, and buy bread that doesn't contain any seed oils. Do I sound like RJK,Jr.? LOL!

  8. I would never want to move to Florida because of the flooding and hurricanes. But you've got me thinking about Lakeland! :)

  10. I actually think I would like Lakeland. I have been there a few times for more than just driving through, I think you are correct in that it is a nice place.

  11. I don't eat much bread anymore, but I'd sure make an exception for Portillo's! That, or a good egg salad sandwich ... with lots of black pepper. Yum!

  12. I know you do a great job of promoting Lakeland! I'm sure you'd be great at their Chamber of Commerce or some kind of Welcome Center! LOL. Maybe one of these days we will make it down there to visit. I just have to convince SOMEONE here to leave home. LOL. I enjoyed your post as always!!
