2. How will you celebrate Independence Day this year? If you live outside the USA answer this question as it relates to your own country's patriotic holiday, wherever that may land on the calendar. I will attend a potluck at the Clubhouse and will sit with friends to enjoy the meal and camaraderie. I have patriotic clothes to wear, as well!!
3. This or that...red, white, or blue? Stars or stripes? Watermelon, homemade ice cream, or blueberry pie? How do you feel about fireworks? Fireworks are always fun, and I have memories from a very early age (4-5 years old) of going to a local park with my parents for fireworks - and holding my ears!! I love red, white, and blue. Stars better than stripes, perhaps. I love watermelon and homemade ice cream. Blueberry pie is okay - I'm just not a pie lover. Add a dip of ice cream and I'm in for the pie! How can you choose this or that?!
4. What have you purchased recently that made you excited? I love TOMS shoes and buy a pair when I see them on sale for $20 (usually $60). I just got red ones and will wear them to the potluck!!
5. I'm thankful to live in America (or fill in whatever country you call home) because it is the land that I love.
6. Insert your own random thought here. I did something yesterday that I haven't done in more than 50 years. I got a perm in my hair. My hair has always been curly, and I came to terms with that years ago but lately, the curl has been gone. It is most likely from the anesthesia I had in January for foot surgery and/or weight loss. Laura, from Salon Rootz, gave me a perm and my hair is curly again! I'm not doing a picture because it needs to relax a bit. I can't wash it for another day. I don't like to "mess" with my hair and have enjoyed wash and wear for years. I have it back!! Yay!!

I remember getting body waves when I was younger. I always hated the smell of a perm. I would love to see your new red shoes!!
ReplyDeleteOh, good for you! I bet you will love your new perm when it relaxes a bit. I used to get them once or twice a year, but finally stopped and it seems like my old natural wave has started to bounce back with a good haircut. I hope I can keep the stylist I have now at Walmart! I can't wait to see a picture of your new "do", and your new red shoes too! You should definitely have a picture taken of you on the 4th of July in your patriotic outfit! Have a wonderful rest of your week!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great poem and really does sum up the meaning of freedom!
ReplyDeleteHave a fab 4th of July weekend.
I used to love the fireworks when I was a child but now I prefer to watch them from inside my home. I am not a big fan of blueberries so I would go for the ice cream, it always tastes better home made.
I had a perm in my teenage years and loved the curls but now I always wear my hair straight.
AI did good with that poem!
ReplyDeleteI'm not an ice cream person so would go for the pie. :)
My hair is straight and I always have to use the curling iron. Wash and wear sounds wonderful!
I love fireworks, too, Terri. Can't wait to see your perm! Happy Independence Day!
ReplyDeleteI'm not such a fan of fireworks, but embrace everything else ... especially the Freedoms we're blessed. I've never tried Tom's shoes, but that's a significant sale. Going on my Possibilities list!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely poem, Terri! I am not too keen on fireworks...I mean, I like the colours, but the noise frightens wildlife and pets, so that part of it I don't like. Yesterday, July 1st, was Canada Day here. And because it was hot and humid I spent it indoors, safely. Love your fireworks background, dear friend. Happy Independence Day! :)
ReplyDeleteENJOY your potluck dinner and all that the weekend brings.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Toms shoes! I have several. WHERE did you score them for only $20??? is their website having a huge sale?? I usually get something from their site on sale but i also dn't mind paying full price as most of their proceeds go to a humanitarian cause.
ENJOY the rest of the week!!
I get Toms deals on Facebook most of the time.
DeleteI will take ice cream and cake - lol. Have a wonderful 4th.
ReplyDeleteI remember your curly hair - so the curl went out of it?
Well can't wait to see your perm.
I used to get perms all the time, and then I quit. At one point I wanted to try again and my gal said "you can perm or color, I won't do both on your hair". Soooo I didn't get a perm. I enjoyed all your answers. Have a fun 4th
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new do : ) Sounds like you have some nice plans for the 4th. I love pie, maybe more than cake although it's close. Hubs often asks for a blueberry pie for his birthday as that's his favorite. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day!!! (and the new hair-do!!)
