My trip to Ohio last week was specifically for my nephew's wedding. I had such a great week before the wedding, staying with my sister, Patti. I did two photo-dump posts about all that fun and the wedding photos follow...
The ceremony was to have been outside, but the rain didn't stop so Plan B was put into action and we were all seated inside. It was a bit cramped but still lovely.
The reception was held in the room next door and was quite comfortable and beautiful.
Me and my sister...
Bridesmaids down the aisle and the groom waiting...
Here she comes, with her dad...
Husband and Wife. They wrote their own vows and I think we all had tears in our eyes.
My niece, Kelly, and her partner Avery (they've been
together 11 years - boyfriend sounds silly).
They stopped for a kiss as they were walking back down the aisle... so cute!
They had this charcuterie board for their guest "book". A very cute idea!
A cocktail hour for guests while pictures were being taken.
The bride's family...
The groom's family... (sweet boy's face obscured)
Megan's favorite is grilled cheese and tomato soup...
Mike's favorite is meatballs...
The wedding party...
Patti and I both shopped our closets for what to wear...
The cake was delicious! Each layer was a different flavor!
Patti and hubby...
Megan and her dad dance...
Mike and his mom dance...
Niece Kelly and her sweetheart...
If you look closely at Megan's bouquet below, you can see a heart pendant where
the stems are secured. I gave it to her as her "something old". It is a piece my
dad had made for my mom for their 40th anniversary. He had a family member, who
is a jeweler, melt down a couple of gold rings to make the pendant and then
put the ruby chips in a heart shape, in the middle. Mom gave it to me and
I decided to pass it along to Megan and Mike. It felt like Mom and Dad were there, too.
(Megan was very emotional when I gave it to her.
I'm so happy she carried it in her bouquet.)
We all had rooms at the Cambria Hotel after the wedding. It was very nice.
I took an Uber to the airport on Monday morning so no one
would have to get up as early as I did.
Flying between the clouds as we approached the Tampa airport on my way home.
It was a great week away. The wedding was beautiful. And there is no place like home.
Peace and Hugs!!
Praising God for so many blessings!!

Now that was some wedding! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful wedding! It's too bad it rained, but it looks like they made the best of it, and all turned out well. The pendant on the bouquet is so sweet, and so kind of you to pass it down. I know this means so much to them!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great time to spend with your family!
Such a beautiful wedding and I also love that pendant. So glad you are home safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteI loved this entire post so much!!! So much beauty and joy!! That pendant you gave her, passed down from you parents, is truly beautiful and so very meaningful! Wow, I just loved your whole trip back home!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful wedding!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome experience! The grilled-cheese-and-soup shots are so clever, and the heirloom pendant brought tears to my eyes. You and Patti look perfect ... two pretties! xo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful wedding. I think the bride and groom and family looked wonderful. Love the charcuterie board idea. The different flavors of cake. The grilled cheese. Are you and your sister twins? You look so much a like!
ReplyDeleteShe is six years younger than me, Sandie.
DeleteA gorgeous wedding with such a lovely couple! How wonderful that Megan used the heart pendant you gave to her in such a meaningful way. Thanks for sharing all your joy and excitement here with us today, Terri. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI've loved reading all about your trip and the wedding Terri. Good to know you're home safe with all the disruption storm Helene has caused.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful wedding! So wonderful they had a "plan B" since it was raining! It looks perfect in every way. Is your nephew your brother's son? He certainly looks like you and your sister. And you and your sister both look lovely, btw. I love the "something old" gift...that was really special!! I know she will treasure it! Thank you for sharing this wonderful event with us. so happy you could go. Really really nice!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, he is my brother's son. Mike was only 10 when Randy died of cancer (Sara was 15). Mike is a doctor now and Megan is a music therapist. Randy would be so very proud of his two kids and of Jo Anne for doing such a great job as a single mom. Sara has her PhD and her hubby is a neurologist.
DeleteLooks like a beautiful celebration and I love that she carried your keepsake. Her dress is beautiful and the charcuterie board is a great idea! Stay safe this week Terri.
