I have no new photos to share so let's give this a try instead.
Outside my window: The supermoon is shining high in the sky but I am not in a good place to take a picture. This was sent to me by a (former) coworker from Tenoroc. I am writing this on Thursday night. So pretty!
I'm thinking: About my new refrigerator that has died on me. Not from the storm. The repairman (under warranty) said they sold me a lemon. The repairs will cost about as much as a new fridge. I am leaving the decision to the warranty people. Glad I have a backup. My 20-year-old fridge, which used to live in our garage at the other house, is working great.
I'm enjoying: Being able to take a hot shower again!!
I'm grateful: For still having a roof over my head and dry floors. My heart aches for so many who lost so much, including loved ones.
I'm loving: Friends and family who care so much and keep checking on me.
I'm a little sad: I'm a lot sad for my friends who lost their 10-year-old granddaughter, Makayla. The service is this Saturday. I'm planning to attend.
In the kitchen: I lost a lot of food from the storm and need a trip to Sam's Club (maybe today) to replace some meat and to also get supplies for fajitas. I'm having Danon, Mali, and Monika over for dinner on the 26th and I promised Mexican.
A thought: I got "Booed" a couple of days ago. It's a fun thing that happens here just before Halloween. We don't do trick-or-treating here but we do Boo people. I delivered three bags of goodies to three of my sweet neighbors last evening. It is supposed to be a secret thing, but my neighbors have Ring Doorbells so they always know what's going on. Teehee.
Giggling at: Even if I had worn a hoodie and tried to hide, my neighbors would know it was me.
I'm so sorry about your frig! I hope they honor the warranty.
ReplyDeleteBooing people sounds like fun. No one does that around here. Maybe I need to start it. :)
Oh, I am SO sorry about the fridge, but so glad it is under warranty. I hope you bought the extended warranty, because I have discovered with the new appliances these days, you will need the extended warranty. They do NOT make new appliances to last more than about 3-4 years! Every time we've had a newer fridge go bad, they tell us the same thing, it would be as expensive to fix it as to buy a new one! I wish I still had some of my OLD fridges that lasted 30 years...but they were either Harvest Gold or Avocado Green! LOL.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about your friends' granddaughter. That is so very sad. I'm glad you can go to the service and be of comfort to this family. I love the "boo" thing you are doing in your neighborhood! It must be fun to live in a neighborhood where neighbors are all retired and like to do fun things and be neighborly! I may have to consider that kind of place if we ever do move again, which I don't want to do, but all this property is getting to be a bit much for us to take care of in our "old age". Time will tell. Your ending verses are a bit different than your norm...yikes! Scary! LOL. Take care, Terri, and don't get "booed" too much!! Love ya! OH, I just did your yesterday's whimsical fashion thing. I forgot to check it yesterday! I must be slipping! LOL.
And I did buy the extended warranty on both of my new appliances. Glad I did!
DeleteI've been told over and over again how most of these new appliances are garbage. Sorry you got one of them. If ours ever quits our plan is to go to Turner Appliance in Blackshear and buy a refurbished old one. I'm done with most new things 'cause they're Chinese junk. Hope everything is fixed or replaced soon.
ReplyDeleteBlessings.
New appliances are a joke. I had my stove replaced and the power burner never worked. GE had to send a repair person to replace the control switch for the burner. Then I got a new dishwasher. The first one that was delivered to my house has a broken kickplate (cheap plastic) so they took that one back and sent a new one. That one worked for 5 months and then started to stop half way during the cycle. Fridgidaire has sent the service man out 3 times, and he is coming again today. So far they have replaced the control panel and the door switch. If it doesn't get fixed today I am asking for another new one. Here is hoping that my 20+ year old refrigerator hangs in there. I don't think I can deal with any more new appliances! I believe they build the ones today to only last a few years so they can sell us yet another one!
ReplyDeleteHey, Terri, you can file with FEMA over the loss of power and food. Honest, truly you can-https://www.disasterassistance.gov/. ugh on the fridge, appliances are just not made good anymore...wishing you a beautiful day my friend.
ReplyDeleteLife is filled with happy and sad. You sure bring a lot of fun to people you know! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteRefrigerators in modern times are in no way made with quality, and I'm so glad yours is still under warranty, Terri. Why can't people take more pride in the products they produce? I'd never heard about the "Booed" tradition before, but it does sound like a fun thing for adults, for sure. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteWhat I wouldn't give to have my old avocado appliances back again!
ReplyDeleteYour "Boo" bag exercises sound like a hoot! We're never too old, right?
You have a terrific attitude considering all you have gone through. I am so sorry about your refrigerator. Hope you get a new one.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to see this about your refrigerator!!! And even more so about the little girl who has died. Praying now for comfort and peace for those affected by her passing.
