Autumn Reading
Happy September friends and welcome once again to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.
The Autumnal Equinox is September 21 and it is the actual beginning of Autumn. Many, however, consider Labor Day as the unofficial opening of the Autumn season of the "Ber" Month
1. What's on your reading list for September? I just hope I get through the book I've been reading for weeks and weeks. My reading mojo is on vacation.
2. Does your favorite reading nook look anything like the one in the picture or do you wish it did? I've never had a reading nook and, since I live in Florida, that scene looks a little too warm for here. It does look cozy, though. I would be more likely to fall asleep.
3. Can you name some books you've read many times? Do you recommend them? Gone With The Wind around four times. The Once and Future King (about Camelot) around five times. Pillars of the Earth, three or four times. Yes, I recommend them all.
4. Which of the classics have you read? Good Reads offers a list of classics they recommend here. I was surprised at how many I've read! 16 out of 100 I'm not usually "into" classics and am surprised at some of the books on this list. (I read all of the Harry Potter books.)

Wishing you a beautiful day, Terri. smiles
ReplyDeleteI think I've read 12 on that list. I am trying to go back and read some of the classics I read in high school. They definitely hit differently now and it's kind of interesting to see how my impressions have changed. Have a great day Terri!
ReplyDeleteNice list of reads. My favorite reading list is almost all of Agatha Christie's mysteries. Also, Alison Weir, David Starkey, etc. for British history. I can't put those down! Blessings. 💙
ReplyDeleteI've read a few of those! We had to read 1984 and Animal Farm in school and I recently reread 1984. I rarely reread anything.
ReplyDeleteYou are right about the mojo. It comes and goes for me but some seem to have it all the time. I was surprised by how many books I have read. Thank you so much for always joining in!
ReplyDeleteAlas, films have captured me now, and my reading has really slacked.... good reminder!
ReplyDeleteWay to go on the classics! Voluntarily? I only read 4 (5?) of these titles -- but then I can be a bit selfish when it comes to genre or author. I don't think I've re-read anything since the junior high librarian chastised me for sometimes checking out the same book.
ReplyDeleteMy reading mojo is on vacation, too, Terri. I did read a lot of the classics when I was in college because I decided to major in that useless degree of English. However, I have no regrets, especially in the two classes with a professor who was an expert on William Faulkner. That could be a blog unto itself! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI also read 16 of those, but not exactly the same as your 16. I still have my copy of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn from 10th grade. I read a lot of the classics that year. I had a really good English teacher that year.
ReplyDeleteI have only read just a few of those.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers. There were probably more that I've read in the classics I just don't remember
