Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 543
2. What's something many people seem to love, but to you feels like 'watching the grass grow'? Soccer, baseball, basketball, golf, tennis... I do like hockey and football.
4. It's been said, 'Absence makes the heart grow fonder.' Agree or disagree? Explain. I don't agree. My family members are all far away. I don't love them any more or less because we don't see each other often. Perhaps if this refers to having a plate full of pasta after being on a diet... yes! LOL
5. Are there any festive spring events in your city or town? If so, will you take advantage of them? Not "festive" especially, but we do have the Detroit Tigers in town for spring training, and the Lake Morton Historic District has a Home Tour in April. Lots of 1920s craftsman-style homes and 10-12 are on the tour. In May, we have Mayfaire-by-the-Lake, which is a juried outdoor art festival hosted by Polk Museum of Art.
6. Insert your own random thought here. My neighborhood is having a potluck this Saturday!! We did one last year in my carport. This year, Dee and Bill (across the street) are hosting it in their carport. There will be 15-16 people from right around us on our street. I love my neighbors and feel so blessed to live where I live. Pictures from last year. We had about a dozen last year and hope it becomes an annual event!

I haven't had a total knee, but with rheumatoid arthritis, I can't handle being on my knees either. I wish I could! And my baseboards need work too...
ReplyDeleteYou have some fun things coming up. I love your neighborhood gatherings. Cheer on those Tigers - they need it!
I enjoy "watching" it in the background... beautiful courses...and reminds me of my better days when a day on the links brought much peace and frustration!
ReplyDeleteGolf is the subject!
ReplyDeleteI just love your area!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like mint ice cream - ever try Tillamook? It is a bit expensive but so good.
I can't get down on my metal knees either - just don't look! lol
I do love the fact that your neighbors are so friendly and love getting together - I remember those photos from the last year!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Terri!
It's a wonderful time of year and nice for eating outdoors! Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteI've not metal knees but can sure empathize with having to clean baseboards. Ugh! I keep waiting for someone to make them available in plastic ... snap-on. That way I could just snap off and stick them under the kitchen faucet.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite 'mintie' is Ghirardelli peppermint bark. So addictive!
Great idea, your neighborhood potluck. I'd like to do the same thing!
My knees do not like the kneeling down anymore. I read a tip from a young guy who said if you can wipe down your baseboards with dryer sheets pet hair and dust bunnies will not stick to them so much. I try to devise a plan where I use my Swiffer that picks up all the hair and gunk on the floor. I love it but will try his idea. I like your potluck, how fun! We had a potluck in October 2023 and the city used our block as a test pilot and brought us a big screen TV to watch the Bronco game. We all shared dishes and met some folks we usually do not see. Great fun and your neighbors sound very nice. Have a great rest of your week.
