It's For the Birds
Hey there Tuesday 4 fans. It's so good to have you back. I hope your week went well and if it didn't then I hope the coming week is stellar for you.
Can we talk about the birds today? Did you know that birds sing all day long but particularly 3 times a day which corresponds to the prayers of Daniel the Prophet. His 3 prayers daily corresponded to the 3 daily services in the temple at Jerusalem...
1. Do you have a favorite bird? Not really but I will say the majestic Eagle.
2. Do you find singing birds comforting or annoying? Comforting
3. Can you recognize the songs of particular birds or is it all the same to you? I can pick out different songs but don't know the names of the birds the songs belong to.
4. Every year many birds die from being fed too much sugar. Grape jelly glues shut the beaks of birds and honey, corn syrup or other substitutes for white sugar do the same to hummingbirds. We are warned to use only white refined sugar for hummingbirds. Do you feed the birds or provide water or shelter for them? I do not feed birds, but would if I had a bigger yard and neighbors not so close. My neighbors would probably have a fit. Our yards aren't that big and birds can be dirty. I know that Lakeland posts signs to not feed bread to the swans, geese, and ducks. It isn't good for them.
Peace & Hugs!

Now I am singing Wings of a Dove in my head... LOL. Good way to start my day. Thank you for joining in!!
ReplyDeleteLove that song...need to run to the piano and see if I can find the music.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that song too!! I won't try to print the rest of it...the chorus is what we all know best! LOL. Perfect for this post today! Or, how about "His Eye is on the Sparrow" ? That's another good one! Yes, I know we shouldn't feed the ducks, geese, cranes, etc. I hate to see people feeding them bread, etc., which isn't good for them. Sometimes the geese and cranes here come and eat the bird seed on the ground under the feeders, but I've learned not to purposely feed them. It's actually against the law re: the Sand Hill Cranes! They manage to find enough food on their own without our help. I would love to see some swans. We don't have any of those around here that I am aware of.
ReplyDeletePerfect song for this post, now I'll be singing it all day.☺
ReplyDeleteMe, too! Hearing that song in my head, that is.
ReplyDeleteBefore it became too hot and he's found it hard to move around, my Tom enjoyed tending the birds' feeders -- even putting out peanuts on the fence line, so to distract the squirrels. Unfortunately, I'm not so passionate about them.
We feed our birds. They are definitely my cup of tea, thus the name of our "estate" Red Bird Acres. I can watch them for hours and hours. I'm anxious for the weather to cool off so Steve and I can sit outside and enjoy God's creation. It's been a scorcher this year like in 1993 when we first moved here. Praise the Lord, though, He's been blessing us with lots of rain. That makes life a little easier.
ReplyDeleteSweet post. I enjoyed it. xx
We just don't have the birds we previously had,,, but still always lovely to hear
ReplyDeleteWe have a lake nearby and the people used to feed the ducks, swans and geese. The swans and geese lost all inhibitions and started to attack people. They just wanted a nice bite.
ReplyDeleteNow the peopple stopped feeding, the birds started to mind their own business.
I think eagles are majestic too, also herons and hawks.
ReplyDeleteThe Dr I used to work with was a huge bird watcher, went all over the world to see different birds. I like to watch them, but not that much.
Hugs to you today.
