I had a great weekend and have some photos to share!!
I met my friend, Shirley, for lunch on Friday after work. We had Chinese food at Peking House. It is the only Chinese restaurant around that has a nice dining room. Most are storefronts in shopping centers with one or two tables to sit at while you wait for your carry-out food. I am sorry I didn't get pictures from Friday. This is from their website...
I left home around 9:15 for the two-hour ride down to Punta Gorda on Saturday morning. It is a nice drive down Route 17. There isn't much traffic and the road is easy to drive on. I arrived a few minutes before my granddaughter, Lauren. She has a shorter drive, but still a bit more than an hour. I feel so blessed that she wants to spend a good part of her Saturday now and then with her grandma.
Sunday school and church yesterday. I went up to my boss's house mid-afternoon to attend to their cats. Three of them were happy to see me. There was good interaction, purrs, and fun. One of the furbabies is very shy. I saw her glowing eyes in the back of the closet. That was it for her. Maybe she will warm up in a couple of days. We had rain off and on all afternoon but it is needed.
Today, I have my annual mammogram at 7:15 (Yawn). I will visit the cats before going to the office and again after work. I need to drop papers off at Helen's bank and I need to stop at Winn Dixie for a few things. A busy day but my happy place will be waiting for me at home!!
Thanks for your visit!! Have a blessed week ahead!!
God of glory, Lord of love
Hearts unfold like flow’rs before
Thee Op’ning to the sun above

I love that your granddaughter will drive an hour to spend time with you. You enjoyed some great food over the weekend!!
ReplyDeleteYou had a full Saturday! I enjoyed the pics of you and Lauren, and you and Cheryl. Blessed time together!
ReplyDeleteGreat weekend indeed. Wonderful looking dinner, one of my favs when I lived down that way.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice weekend Terri...visiting with blogging friends and your granddaughter. Hope all is well with your mammogram and that you are having a good day at work too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous day in Port Charlotte! The spicy rum sauce sounds wonderful, as does a mud pie. (I hadn't heard of that before, but just Googled it -- YUM!) Lifting prayers your mammo is all good!
ReplyDeleteOh, how wonderful to possibly get to meet Cheryl and you in January! Please keep me posted on the PLANS. January will be here before we know it! At least it should be a lot cooler then! Looks like you had a wonderful visit with her family and also with your granddaughter and your friend Shirley. You had a very busy weekend!! And taking care of extra kitties too! Hope they all warm up to you and show you some love!!
ReplyDelete"Melt the clouds of sin and sadness;
Drive the dark of doubt away;
Giver of immortal gladness,
Fill us with the light of day!"
have a wonderful week!!!
What a wonderful weekend you had! Your granddaughter is lovely and your friends have a beautiful family! Be careful with the shy kitty...my sister had one and she attacked my feet, one day, just as I sat down on the couch. My sister laughed and said, "Oh she's just shy and you scared her."... Demon cat! Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteGrace & Peace,
Pam
What a wonderful time we had visiting with you and eating delicious pizza. I remember posting new born pics of the grandbabies on Multiply. Wow time flies! Your granddaughter looks sweet and lovely. Nice that you have those special times together! We look forward to more visits in the future and yes, I hope we can get together with Pam sometime! Hopefully January!
