The Tuesday 4...

Thanks to Annie for keeping Toni's memory alive!  You can join in HERE!

Book Worms

Welcome back to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 where we try and challenge you to think, discover and make new friends through blogging.

1.  Did any book besides the bible have an impact on your life or beliefs?  Gosh, I've read so many books in the 65 years I've been reading (that's since first grade) and I'm sure all of them had an impact in one way or another.  I can't even sort it out because I think it just happened along the way.

2.  What books influenced you as a young person?  I have written about this before, many times.  Trixie Beldon and Nancy Drew!!  I still love mysteries and strong female characters!

3.  Do you continue educating yourself by reading books or listening to podcasts or lectures?  If I need to learn something I will study it but I read for entertainment and relaxation now.  I don't do podcasts, and long lectures are not a favorite either.  I don't/can't pay attention to long-winded speakers and don't do audiobooks either.  My attention span fails and my mind wanders.

4.  Have you ever sat in a coffee shop/restaurant/cafe reading a book?  What is your preferred place to read?   Yes, I have but it isn't something I like to do. I do have a book on my phone, as well as on my Kindle.  I can read wherever I am.  My preferred place... propped up in my bed. I read a bit every night before turning out the light.

Peace & Hugs!

I surrender all, I surrender all
All to thee my blessed Savior
I surrender all

  2. This was a fun one. I love to read and always have. I read the Little House books, Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden, The Box Car Children. Good memories!

  3. Oops, I see I miss-typed above, "All TO Jesus I surrender" is what it should have said!

  4. How I loved Nancy Drew. And Cherry Ames, Student Nurse! These days, if I'm going to pay attention to a juicy novel, I have to be in my comfy recliner 'just so' -- with no distractions. That said, and because my eyes tire so quickly, I'm trying to adapt to Audible. At least that way I can get household chores accomplished while 'reading.'

  5. Reading is the best. I usually read in the living room when I am alone.
I love reading. Loved your answers! Have a nice week. ♥

  6. #1 & 2 ~ I feel the same 'cause I've read and re-read SO many books. The Holy Bible has had the biggest impact, of course, but I also started out with Mythology, History, then Nancy Drew books (still have the Drew ones).
Even though I enjoy being informed, I find most podcasts too long and too boring. Maybe I'm too impatient. *giggle* Reading is still my all-time favorite way to pass the time.
Nice post. Have a great week! xx

  7. I agree with you that reading is for enjoyment. I never read Nancy Drew that I can remember, but I loved Trixie Belden.

  8. I enjoyed Nancy Drew. I recently found the movie series on YouTube and tried watching a few of them but I found their Nancy to be kind of silly and her boyfriend was the strong level headed one.

  9. We are two peas in a pod, Terri, when it comes to reading. I read for fun and entertainment, too, but of course, I take the Bible seriously, as I should.
    Blessings!

  10. I loved Trixie Belden and recently bought a couple books that I don't think are among the ones I have. I've been thinking about rereading them just for fun one of these days. I thought Trixie, Honey, Jim and the rest were so glamorous and sophisticated back in the day.

  11. Finally found someone who doesn't like listening to podcasts either.
It sometimes feels like someone just speaks a bit about something and doesn't want to take the effort to write it down. Ofcouse that is often not the case, but that's how it feels. And with always other people around me it's not a polite way to get some information. So I read. As long as I can.

    Have a nice week!
